Tornado or Talos for frig sniping?

The Talos has better tracking bonus than the nado. But the nado can snipe farther. I wanted to gatecamp and snipe frigs, dessies, and AFs . Which would be a better ship presuming I also have anti frig support in case I get tackled? I'm thinking 3 SEBOs will suffice as well?

NAGA please

but seriously it depends on how the camp is comprised if you have tacklers you cant beat the nagas range (which helps keep you from getting shot more often) if you dont have tacklers i would say tornado... of course thats just because i think(havent fitted anything but the naga) that it has a higher alpha which will help you kill stuff before it warps/jumps back through the gate

Oh, Do go on... no seriously ive got nothing better to do then listen to all the petty arguments and feeble trolling attempts...

The sad thing is i'm not sure if i'm telling the truth.

Why would tornado snipe further than Talos? It's only 25% falloff bonus even at lvl5. I don't think arty would outrange rails with it.

Anyway, the tracking for 1400s on frigs is pretty horrible, even at long range. But rails has so little alpha it'll suck hard in practice. Tornado is probably still the better one, unless you really want to be far from the gate.

Look into Tach Oracle. High volley, high dps, and long range, tracking isn't quite horrible. The 25% bonus is dmg, that increases volley, unlike Tornado's 25% rop.

forgot about the oracle... it is a cool ship

Edit:also the naga can get around 600 dps i believe so with a point it should chew through most frigates fairly quickly and the talos does get a damage bonus so it should do even more...dont quote me on that though because like i stated earlier the only one i have fitted is the Naga

For most frigs, the Nado just needs one volley, making it much superior to the other snipers. The alpha advantage for the Nado keeps it on top since frigs don't have the eHP to even things out.

It's situational (depends on the camp), but normally the alpha from a Tornado is the deciding factor.

Unless you get the target inside a bubble, or tackled, most of the time you won't get a second volley with the Naga, the Talos or the Oracle either, so you have to make the most out of your one shot.

This makes the Tornado the most practical choice.

The Naga (which is what I fly when I feel like sniping frigs, pods and small stuff) has two advantages: it's incredibly beautiful (easily in my personal top 3 best hulls) and it hits up to 249 Km while targetting small things very quickly.

And yes, there are people out there who still makes safespots at less than 250Km from things. Boom.
