Wormhole Rescue Dedicated Chat Channel

I assume somebody has already come up with this idea, but I'm posting it in case not (and hopefully somebody will point it out to me).

We should have, or create a dedicated channel solely as a wormhole community. Essentially a wormhole pub for everyone. However this pub would also server a secondary purpose: allowing search and rescue (for a fee of course) of people that get stuck in a wormhole.

Obviously it would also allow people to quickly sell any wormholes they may find to the highest bidder.

Thoughts, ideas?

wormnav.com's got the rescue/market covered.

Not to disuade you or anything; couldn't hurt. Although rescue requests can reach a larger audience if they are posted in a more permanent venue, like the forums here or wormnav above.

I find the easiest way to get rescued from a wormhole is to take a probe launcher on your ship.

Barring that, talk in local.

If no one answers, pod yourself.

The chat channel wouldn't be a paid for thing. It'd be more of a "chance channel". More of like a mass local for all wormholes.

No. Just no.

Local in a wormhole is for saying "GF", nothing else.

Wormhole space is the old bear defecating in the woods conundrum - does he hear the tree falling if he's not defecating in the woods?

though i can see why you'd want this (on a side note- haha! ) it wont work. if you get stuck and i find you, ill get you to empire by killing your pod. so will nearly everyone else. ofcourse it might happen that one of us has a weak moment and actually helps you, but in general....you're dead, you're just still in denial.

if you're stuck in high class, c5 or 6, and your corp/alliance has a static there you can wait it out, takes a few weeks sometimes, but it can be done. if you have friends with those statics, it becomes easier. but unless were talking billions for your rescue....id take you down. nothing personal

Unfortunately you are not in my wormhole, for I frequently converse via local.
Many do not share my sentiment.

Many forget this is a game.

Someone called for wormhole nerf? This post. Coddling carebears in wspace since Escalation. Don't get me wrong. More overly confident people to kill. Learning wormholes the hard way is the best way.

No no, you get me wrong. I love the fact that there is no local for wormholes. I've lived in them long enough to know how dangerous they are.

What I was suggesting was not a "local" persay. More like a pub channel for ALL wormholes together. Basically like this forum is something all users can talk on, but it would be a chat channel.

I wholeheartedly agree that 90% of the time people will go for the kill rather than bargain a way out. However some people, when they can get easy money, will transport a person out.
I've been on both sides of this, and I'll tell you now, sometimes a couple hundred mil is good enough to let the kill go. A pretty kill is cool, a shiny new ship for me is better. And there will be people who disagree with me, and that's the best part about eve, everybody can play their own way.

Already exists, forums and wormnav and I don't think those are very popular anyway. First of all, who in his right mind wants to spend a lot of time looking for a certain WH to not even be 100% sure to get paid. Let alone only getting a couple of 100mil for possibly spending several day's of dedicated looking. I doubt that many people are keeping an eye out for WH systems that have someone stuck in them unless it's a friendly.

Again things have already been set up for that, the forums and wormnav.

There is also an intel factor, WH corps generally don't like to show openly how many people they have online. If you can't understand why, then you should learn more about WH's before posting suggestions.

How to get rescued:

Contact the owners of the POCOs and offer a reasonable reward via third party.

No POCOs? What about a POS?

No? Then pound d-scan until you see a ship. Talk in local.

When you get bored of that, pod yourself before someone else does

How is RAZOR a part of wormhole community? You guys are sovbears and mediocre ones at that. I mean this in the nicest possible way but ideas like this is what separates you from the REAL wormhole community, we take the risks, we know we can get stuck and then its Jita express for us and our blingy ships / pods. We know the risks of getting locked out of our chains and we take them willingly to get some pew.

We don't need a dedicated channel because we KNOW it will not work. We know that people who volunteer to help in that channel can just turn around and pew us, we KNOW that our intended targets / opponents will also monitor that channel for quick revenge / vindication. We are a community based on risk and averse to NAPs, you are the exact opposite, your entire world is built around mitigating risk.

Maybe we can also have a channel that cap pilots can use when a fleet drops on top of them, so an emergency repsonse hole rolling group can come save it.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
