Public Announcement: Greetings from the Chancery

On 05/20/114YC, in the meeting of the Federal Consensus Outreach alliance, I was appointed as the new keeper of the office of chancery. It is an honor for me to receive this token of trust - as a private citizen, as an entrepreneur and as a political leader I have always been fighting for decency, progress, prosperity and freedom. I see this nomination as a triumph for these virtues I have always believed in.

On my travels around the Federal space, there is nothing that elevates my spirit more than seeing democratic principles being applied in practice. Without freedom and democracy there can be no hope for lasting peace and development. I love democracy and I love the Federation. Nothing can make me more proud than being able to stand in the first line of defense for these greatest achievements of mankind.

There is no question that vibrant, viable media is the cornerstone of democratic society. However, premature disclosure and commenting of matters which are not ready for public discussion is a hallmark of sensationalism and lack of journalistic deft. It undermines the very foundations of the freedom of media. Compromise of sensitive data can make an organization vulnerable to attack. It can put the lives of uninvolved civilians at unwelcome risk. This kind of practice must not be tolerated. It harms everyone's capacity to fight for hope, freedom and civilization, virtues so rare and endangered in this world we are living today.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude for the members of the Executive Council of FCO, representatives of Quafe, Federal Freight, FedMart, CreoDron, Chemal Tech and a few others. Without your continued support and inspiration, this process would have been much more difficult.

I think I'd rather have the democracy than your racist, bigoted drivel.

So this is the Diana Kim I have been called a 'Matari version of'.

Yes, I totally see it.

Except no.

Pilot Kim;

I have read your discussions on these forums in the past days with growing dismay. As a loyal Caldari, I beg of you - publicly. Please, stop. Consider that when you speak, you carry all of our voices with you. You disgrace yourself and your people with these public outbursts. Please, I beg you. There is no profit in these actions.

I'm interested to hear how you plan to remove democracy from the cluster. It should be an inspiring piece. As for the bullets, I'd be delighted. Whenever you decide to undock without a carrier, or some gallente or neutral support, please let me know.

This is a very positive step that the Federal Consensus Outreach are taking. I can't say I was ever entirely comfortable with the former chancellor. His ideas and associations were suspect to say the least.

M. Valoron is certainly a paragon of Gallente ideals and virtues and I hope he leads the alliance in a positive direction.

Once again.

Sometimes people who has never experienced the joy and delight of freedom, would like to deny the privilege from others. Let me try to explain what freedom is.

Freedom is shacklessness.

Freedom is the right to do as you please, whenever you please.

Without freedom to express your personality, everyone would be the same.

Without freedom, the value of everything is diminished.

Freedom is a warm feeling in your heart in the middle of harsh, cold space.

Can you see now, Diana Kim, what you are missing? The wall between you and freedom is in your mind. Question what you have been told, let the old ways go and start embracing the world to the fullest extent!

And with too much freedom comes the issues that your Federation has run across.

I will adress a few things I think should be expanded on in your words here.

Oh but of course, I can wander down my street and mug that poor bastard in front of me, murder that homeless man because he looked at me funny, why? its my right! I am FREE!
....well done there.

Bastian Valoron wrote:

Hmm, perhaps but this again has limits, your Federation is again an example of this taken to extremes, how many twisted 'flowers' reside in your midst because of this freedom? I suggest you simply look around the Intergalactic Summit, apparently you own 'slaves' now, are these sort of people really part of your freedom?

Bastian Valoron wrote:

I have no idea how you get this idea, please expand on this, how can you say that the man who lives in the slave pens does not value the meals he is given at the end of each day?
Does the value of the paycheck the corporate worker dimish when he is quite literally barred from anything your Federation allows freely?

Bastian Valoron wrote:

No, thats generally the feeling of your life draining out of your peppered corpse, or maybe, if you are that way inclined, the love of the soul closest to yours, your freedom imparts nothing itself other than jealousy and discord

I was trying to describe how freedom feels like to someone who apparently has never had this experience. Perhaps it is a hopeless effort, like trying to explain to a blind man what a colour means, without the aid of technology.

My intention was not to go to the technical side of the matter, but of course, you are correct to point out that everyone's individual freedoms must be compatible with the freedoms of other individuals, in a way that is described in the Federation's constitution.
