Item on market 400mil. Buy orders under, one for 800mil. I'm rich, so I buy to test. Re selling nets 8mil when 800mil buy orders are out there?

Explain? I'm not fussed about the isk, I only have interest in why such a thing happens and can I exploit it to become uber rich?

I can't tell exactly what you mean from your post, but I strongly suspect this is the good old Margin Trading scam.

And if that wasn't what you meant, then maybe it's of interest to you anyway to exploit it and become uber-rich Big smile

EDIT: probably not actually since margin trade scams usually have some large minimum amount, and also it seems from your post that you did not have the item left at the end of it. Well, maybe someone else has a better idea.

I thought it was that at first, but nope. Very strange, anyway I just put back on market for 400mil and it sold within seconds of me spamming lol. I think it may have been a glitch with my UI, very interesting anyway. thank you for input

it was the margin trade scam and you just passed the crap onto someone else. That buy-order at 800 had a min-qty greater than 1. That's why it only offered you 8m when you tried to sell despite the 800m order still being there.

Got lucky there boyo

I'm new to the game but have very quickly learned a popular real life saying applies in eve. "If it's too good to be true..."

Or maybe we can change it to, "If it's too good to be true, it's probably a market scam."

If it's a post asking about a weird market glitch 99% of the time it is the margin trading scam. I don't condone botting, but if I did, a bot that would paste a link to the margin trading scam guide to these threads as soon as they're up it would be of some utility.

Some margin trading scammers use min quantity = 1. So it was probably that.
