Can you park a ship at a safe spot and then eject and leave the ship there indefinately?

IE leaving a mining barge somewhere while you haul the ore back to empire from null?

Looked up...saw this F***ING clown dropping like a rock.  Woke up in Vylade wondering what just happened!!!

Yes you can leave your ship at a safe. And yes someone else can scan it down and take it.

Anyone with modest scanning abiity can find it easily.. and take it. Of course, they can't tell it's abandoned til they are on grid with it... so they may not think to scan for it in a populated system. It's not really even safe to leave a ship abandoned in a POS for long. If you just want to test it or if you are feeling lucky and you won't leave it long ..go for it.

A small POS is a cheap staging point for null sec mining. Throw up the POS with a corp hanger and a ship maintenance bay and you can store you hauler there and your hulk while hauling, even some scout and deffence ships if you are planing on keeping it up more than a few days.. It also makes a good depot to drop your ore until you can get it out. If you only need it for a few days the fuel costs are minimal and you just pull it down and take it with you when you leave.

As long as you are not in someone else's sov space it is the safest way to mine in null. yes some one may decide to pop your pos but most won't bother unless they think they will get enough loot to make it worth while. small POSes are easy to take down but generally have nothing of value in them. If it is worth protecting it is worth a large tower.
