Scanning bubbles

Ok, after another excessively annoying day scanning, I have to ask:

Has anyone found a way to disable grabbing the edges of the scan bubble to adjust the size? I really don't know why that feature is in there in the first place, because it never works when you want it to and always inconveniently works when you don't, and it is an utterly useless feature because you are going to have your damn system scanner open anyways and you can easily adjust the size from there.

Sorry for the rant... but seriously, does anyone know how to disable this "feature"?

I wouldn't mind a 'select bubble' hot key that I could assign and keep pressed.

Just zoom in or out one tick so the arrow doesn't overlap an edge, and/or be accurate in where you click.

I love using my "grab bubble" feature, how dare you request such drastic actions without the consideration of your fellow man?

I have an idea, don't grab the edge of the bubble?

My scanning process is something like this:
-scan
-recenter probe formation on target
-shift+drag scan radius to new size
-alt+drag probes into tighter formation with bubbles overlapping
-repeat until locked

I much prefer staying in the visual interface rather than switching back and forth with my scanner window to change radius.

Arazel, I hear you.

On the odd occasion I go highsec-plexing, I scan very intensely (you have to nowadaysWhat?)

I had to fiddle with my scanning style a LOT before I figured out how to make the drag-resize work for me instead of against.

For me it simply boiled down to the right amount of zoom, where I can shift-grab a single bubble edge easily. Too far in, and the shift-mouse-grab areas become too invasive. Too far out and it's just over-fiddly.

Depends on your screen real esate and res, but keep plugging away; you'll eventually reach a zoom sweet spot that's far quicker than using the probe list.

Never been aware of any way to switch it off.

I use it whenever I'm setting up 8-probe patterns, where it's a great time saver.

Like you I also mess up with it on occasion and accidentally set all my probes to the same range, or some other messup.

On balance I like it, and find it's benefits far ouweight the hassles ... even in my clumsy hands.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.
