The nomad approach is talked about in the island amongst the stars book.. All you need is a small pos, ship maint, corp hangar. The small goes up rather quick and is cheaper for what your doing.. You do not need a defense since you only there for a short time.. your just looking for a safe spot to run too.

onlining and offlining times for towers are long so the probability of you getting ganked while doing either is very high. best thing you can do for this venture if you don't have an alt is to not use a tower and just bring friends
