Question about invention and datacore procurement

I realize this may be kind of a difficult question to answer just now with the datacore revamp, but here goes:

I'm gearing up to participate in t2 invention and production, and looking into how I'm going to get datacores to invent with. I realize that datacore farming isn't the isk machine that it once was, but if I'm trying to procure datacores to actually use would you say it is worth it to farm them myself, even with them now costing 10k isk a pop from R&D, or would it make more sense to just buy them off the market? Which of these approaches do you inventors out there take, and why?

Thanks, any help appreciated.

regardless of where you get the datacores from - they have a value

knowing that; farming will mostlikely NOT give you enough datacores to keep up with your invention slots, so just buy them from the market or earn them in FW.

if you buy them from the market they cost X isk - if you get them from an agent they cost X + 10k isk. As a large T2 producer and corp T2 director/ organizer, i can tell you that any big T2 producer/inventor will buy their datacores from the market or friends, because the amount of datacores needed is just impossible to keep up with if you are hoping to only use research agents.

10 invention slots - you can easily put those in 2 times da y per toon -> minimum of 2 x 20 datacores needed, that alone should make you realise you'll have to buy them from someone else or...If you're in FW, then you can get some from the lp store yourself.

I would just try to figure out what datacores net you the most isk, then buy what you need. Planning to get datacores for something you invent isn't really practical long term unless you make the exact same item ever time. Even then it's not since you could potentially make more with datacores you don't use.

EVE IPH has a datacore calc (in sig). I suggest checking that out for planning your datacore setup.
