I don't think so, but clear it up: why that particular advice?

What advice?

The advice you said you gave that guy who was asking about mining in a Hulk.

I don't think whether or not you've ever shot at another person's ship makes any difference here.

I suggested several things.

He ended up liking the idea of orgainizing a mining OP. I suggested a lower sec system if he was going to run an OP because he can make more money mining better minerals.

You're acting like I said he HAD to do something specific. Not once did I say he had to, or that I even suggested a single thing. You read what I wrote, and decided to latch onto a single line of it, which happend to be the one line in the entire post that was me being an ass.

If you can't see that the game allows you to come at a problem from multiple angles to solve it then ok.

Because it's funny.

What's funny is that for all your praise of "divergent gameplay" your advice was "do it this way".

And that you don't get it. That's pretty funny too.

What I got from it is he wants the Hulks to join together and go into low sec resulting in less risk and more kills easily obtained for the gankers.

What I want is less whining and more content. If you want to do it by organizing and marching into nullsec space and taking down those that oppress your efforts - that is one option.

Another is to organize a miner's strike. I have seen a lot of claims from high sec miners that if they didn't mine the market would be OMGWTFPWNd by their absence. Let's see how that would work. Let that play out.

In one or two years we can all say, "I was there during the Great Miner Strike of 2012".

Your enemy is very well organized. You might consider doing some organization of your own.*

*DISCLAIMER: This is not me telling you how to play. It is just a simple suggestion from a fellow player.

If you're assuming that my Career path in Eve is mining, you're sadly mistaken. You can try to justify the exploitation of unbalanced game mechanics against players actively engaging in a specific aspect of game content however you want, it's still just griefing and harassment. Nothing more.

You want more PvP game play content? Go roam low sec, join FW, WarDec a PvP corp, etc. That's where you'll get plenty of viable PvP content. That is if you have the cojones for it.

I see the word "sandbox" thrown around quite a bit on these boards. I also think that different people have different ideas about what it means to play in a sandbox. "It means you can do whatever you want", is a big one.

I would like to have a go at sharing my own definition and encourage your feedback (which I am sure will be spirited).

The sandbox really has nothing to do with what a single player is able is allowed to do. A single player does not necessarily build their own sandcastle. We all take part in building the sandcastle. The sandbox is about a game with defined borders into which CCP threw a bunch of code to generate mechanics and visual elements and then said, "OK guys! Jump on in!"

The only actual content that I believe CCP created was the six races and their backstories. Everything else, Eve Chronicles, great wars in Null Sec, and Hulkageddon are the content.

I have seen a lot of threads about unsubbing. I've also seen a few threads about the miners taking up arms against the regime that oppresses them and fighting back. I would encourage these people to do the latter. Gankers and null sec players like to tell stories of the content that they have taken part in. "I was there during the Incarna revolt", "I was there during Hulkageddon I-V", "I was there for this or that null sec alliance 2000+ players in system war".

You can not affect change if you are unsubbed and nobody will care that you were there when thousands of people unsubbed their accounts during the Great Forum Ragefest over Goons, Gankers, and Windows of 2012. But imagine if in a year or twos time, you could say, "I was there when the miners yelled, "Enough!" and revolted against those that oppressed them and instead of doing it on the Eve-O forums they did it in the game." At best you would at least gain the respect of your fellow players, Ganker and Goon alike. At worst, you might enjoy yourself and never mine again in which case the Eve economy would not crumble. Someone else would just take over the mining and who knows, you might gank them in Hulkageddon VI.

That is what is meant by the sandbox. Multiple players organizing to create lasting and vivid memories of epic gameplay.

Sandbox merely means that you can do what ever you want that ccp doesn't frown on..or worse come down in a hard nerf on. CCP have nerfed things they didn't like that allowed "unfair" ganking in the past. It would not be new or surprise to me if they should do it again.

  - remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not  "afk" cloaking -

So people are exploiting?

Care to explain how they're exploiting?

Something tells me you don't even know what an exploit is.

A 300k ISK Rifter can tackle a 3bn Machariel and effectively doom it to its fate of dying to a couple of Hurricanes. A 50M ISK Interdictor can bubble a 1 trillion ISK fleet of Titans and doom them to their fates, etc etc

ISK isn't a balancing factor ~dealwizit~

npc alts have no opinions worth consideration
