Total boost to tournament ships

Eve players say that tournament ships are "so rare that they never get undocked and are pointless". Therefore, I believe it would be a good idea to change this situation and boost significantly those tournament ships that have more than 5 copies. The main idea is to make those ships so powerful that it makes sense to use them in real battles.

Some ships would be lost. Prices would rise and that would be a good additional ISK sink for CCP. Most important, however is that the majority of Eve players would finally see some of the tournament ships in space and in action. I believe that is what those ships are for, not only for spinning in some rich guy's hangar.

Such boost of tournament ships is quite important for future development of Eve because introduction of new tournament ships created "for spinning only" will eventually crash the value of tournament ships. However, tournament ships still will remain too expensive to use in battles and, therefore pretty much pointless.

what if they stayed the same but were BPO's? Shure it would be like the T2 BPO's of old but at least it would be in the hands of players to decide.................

I wanted to paint my space ship red, but I couldn't find enough goats.

If you undock a ship, you will lose it. This is a basic rule of EvE. The ships are trophies, why would anyone want to lose their trophy?

BPOs will make the ships worthless as trophies. Possibly you could make them drop a 1 run uncopyable BP on destruction, that would at least prevent ships from disappearing from the universe..

Because there are players in the game who will spot the ship, report it's location and gather a fleet for the express purpose of taking it out, just to **** off the owner.

No, these ships will never see active duty.

They are model ships, built for the trophy cabinet.

You mean liek one has a super tool and they are wondering whether they should ever use it or never use it?

Even if you want to consider cost effectiveness unique ships have it. Even if you lose them. TT lost an Impoc in AT3 or 4 and it was a server wide sensation. People sitting in their sofa watching at the Mimir spinning in their hangar and pleasing themselves could have achieved the same result without an EvE subscription tbh... the internetz have many solutions they say...

Basically you want Tyrrax to win the tournament? BEcause he had in past and I am sure would again field unique ships. Was there when he lost an imperial geddon and watching the stream when he lost the Impoc. The only thing you can trust Tyrrax on is making extremely expensive deathmails.

I think i also watched a vid on youtube featuring Garmon with the Thorax-Hull-Trophy owning everything.
(if i m not misslead he won the ship on a HON-Game from PL).

I think it is pretty dumb from CCP to introduce overpowered ships that so few will ever use...

Why not give out ME 0 (or better) BPCs of already existing ships instead (Faction, pirate or T2?)
Yes it's nice to have trophy ships but apart from the hype it doesn't add anything to game balance and they are far too rare to be a real influence in Eve.

Ofcourse this could be countered a little by seeding extremely rare ME -10 BPC's somehow, but then CCP will likely be forced into rebalancing a little...

Adrestia.

He also lost it to a piloting error on a gate.

(sorry for linking to that site, but there's his interview)

PVPing in rare ships makes it to the news, creates legends and is a massive display of spaceballs. Spinning them in your hangar is the opposite.

A trophy isn't a trophy unless it has some rarity so I disagree. Moreover, other ships need balancing first.

I see no problem with having each drop a single-run blueprint copy on destruction. They would remain rare, but more sought-after and will become a greater part of the game.

Not only do they produce lol km, but also be loot pinata?

If you think their owners are risk averse with them now, watch how often they undock then.

No, I say that they don't exist at all. Look: suppose I make a half-transparent overlay for the EVE client that makes it look like I have a spinning unicorn in station. And look here, a window that looks like an official one that says my unicorn has one turret hardpoint and a 500x damage bonus to small energy turrets! And look here, I've taught this fitting tool to let me fit up my unicorn, and look at these stats! To make it even more exciting, I put a few fake KMs on a killboard -- but don't worry, my killboard knows to put a green 'API verified' next to them. And I have some press releases and personal accounts about it.

No, I'm never going to undock it. No, nobody in the game will ever run from my unicorn or worry that a 'unicorn doctrine' would counter what they have or set up a Unicornageddon or complain that unicorns are OP or say "because of unicorn" or complain that Sansha finally got buffed but now unicorns are laggind behind or, or, or.

None of that. Because unicorns don't ******* exist.

I would love to see tournament ships used in tournaments. That would make the tournaments only more interesting because these ships would be lost too and there are many alliances who could afford them. However, at the moment these ships are useless everywhere. These ships are nothing more than another type of currency for tournament winners.

First of all, no they are not sitting in trophy cabinet, they are almost all sold to collectioners.

Secondly, strange that half of tournament ships have additional resistances while other half do not have. Those who have 5% resistances per skill level are pretty safe for traveling already now and I have seen some even in Jita.

Tournament ships have unchanged stats from when they were introduced even when EvE around them changes. Hence the lack of awesomeness of the Fedathron vs. the Adrestia for example. But this doesn't matter because trophy ship is trophy.

I have over 100 kills in Adrestia Lol

I would use the others if they were ever boosted as well. The Mimir is crap also Roll however they should never be boosted to just be overpowered because they are expensive, they should just be unique. The problem is in my opinion that if CCP did boost them they would just make them overpowered as thats generally what they do whenever they boost anything Roll

The Silver Magnate and Guardian Vexor need some serious love though! ;p

I do not agree with these ships ever being seeded into the game again in any form. and that goes for the Gold Magnate also. They are limited issue and should stay limited to that number even though i would love to have an imperial geddon but i still wouldnt be able to fly it because of the even cyno and titan bridges X There is no point having a ship released thats limited to a certain number if that number can change.

how on earth is selling ships an isk sink other then the really small fee for setting up an order? So yeah not so much of an isk sink really.
