Astrometric 5 without the jump drive skills is odd as the only reason you would train it would be for either titan or black ops jump portal operation.

Astrometrics 5 allows you to launch 8 probes at once, the other skills Astrometric Aquisition, Rangefinding and Pinpointing affect scan probe scan time, deviation and strength, no need for jump skills with those.

astronometrics to V gets you DSPs!

some ppl dont even know those probes even exist, even some explorers dont know about them...

i agree with multitasking to 5 being pointless, unless you are my noctis alt... wich has one cargo expander, one DCU II and one Signal Amp II on the lows, just so it can salvage 4 + tractor 4 more and hold a 4 target buffer... :p (makes salvaging really easy.)

but on that linked character, well doesnt fit at all.

also, as previously said, maxing rigging skills means a fresh clone can fly something that would need +3%s without em. tahts a HUGE plus.

well worth the training. specially if you use more than one rig slot on weapons and you fly something like a hurricane, tornado or any tier3 battleship with LOTS of guns.(the rig penalty affects all guns invidually and can stack up really fast)

bottom line, that char is not worth 18b, but should never get sold for anything less than 12b...

think of it as a new char that you decide in what to focus... whatever that is it will get done really fast and once the core training is done it will be a beast at it.

shield comps 5 definitely not. Passive shield resist modules are generally just not used by anyone. Could skip those skills entirely, IMO. Including them on the character sheet is just asking for a failfit.

While I would never train passive resists to V, I've seen some interesting T3 fits using Resistance Amps w/ Deadspace MSB and Shield Boost Amps for perma-run w/ MWD w/o 2B isk in implants.

Key word here is what do you want to do with it.

Shieldcomps V can be very use full in PvP when neuts are involved + 3% passive resistance when harderners aren't on.

Multitasking V when you like to go run logistics

Tactical shield manipulation V strangely enough has most use when flying armor tanked ships, if you get to the point where TSM 5 is going to work for you as a shield tanker You're already in to much trouble.

Most skill ken be use full as for buying a character that has those on 5. The good thing about it, is that you don't have to train them your self anymore, alot of those skill can be usefull theyy just take so damn long :)
