Idea for FW, would like CCP input

Since a large hole in the new FW experience is the lack of reward for defending systems myself and some other corp mates have been thinking of an acceptable way to make running defense just as helpful to the war as running offensive plexs. Why could you not do something like this:

System Defense:
System upgraded to lvl 5 with buffer equaling 150k LP
Enemy runs 15 plexs contesting system to 10% and reducing system level to level 2
Friendly fleet comes in runs defensive plex bring the system back to stable and restoring upgrade level to level 5 no buffer.

For every plex you run on offense you gain say 10k xp for every plex you run for defense you gain 5k lp that is directed toward restoration of the upgrade of the system not given to the player. Granted your not getting back what you originally put in but your at least contributing to the cause instead of wasting time you could be spending farming LP. Don't give everyone the ability to farm defensive plex's for LP but give some benefit to the overall cause so that it has an impact rather than doing nothing.

As it stands now you pour LP into a system to upgrade it then as soon as the enemy see's system X is at level 5 they plex it down to level 0 then leave it. When you get groups together to go run defense you bypass the systems that are at 10% for those that are at 50%, this idea will make every defense of a system worth wile and will force more fighting in the upgraded systems as fleets try to maintain them.

Some balancing is needed when it comes to upgrading and downgrading systems. I myself think that it should be linked to how contested a system is.

For example the system could only be upgrated to lvl 1 if it is contested between 80 and 100%, lvl 2 if it is between 60% and 80%, lvl 3 between 40% and 60%, lvl 4 between 20% and 40%, and lvl 5 between 0% and 25%.
Likewise, downgrading a system would require you to contest a system up to 20-40-60 or 80% and if you managed to get your system back over the threshold, you wouldn't get an automatic update but you would have to put LP back into the system to update it.

It would give a reason to defensive plex without having to add even more LP into the game and I can see more fight coming every time a system approaches a threshold, not only when it's about to flip.

Anyway, that's only my 2cents, and there are probably other way to balance it, maybe even better ways. But something will need to be done if CCP don't want people to just upgrade every system a given day and cash in their LP on that day only.

I Think:

CCP has put a limiter on the LP faucet. And they like how it is so far.
I also think that in time this will deplete FW forces and more or less kill FW growth.

"FW GROWTH" is really the true test of this patch. If it declines, then it will also become seriously lopsided.

PvP'rs don't give a damn about LP, they just want fights.
Isk makers don't want to defensivly plex, night after night, for the rest of their EVE-lives. It's a game, not a job...
I can see where the loseing side could effectivly offense plex forever though.

The worst thing I see is the lockout. Seriously? Are people supposed to move out of stations every 2 weeks? Or leave FW to recover their assets? For most players, moving out means moving on.

Still on the fence about all this. Only time will tell.

I, too, would like CCP`s input. But on my idea for them to credit me one bil isk and fly me out to reykjavik for "good times".
