T1 and T2 module manufacturing

Regardless of whether the increase in the supply has been caused by a loot table change, or by more players running missions and looting wrecks, I'm sure that most of you have noticed an increase in the availability and a decrease in the prices of most meta modules on the market.

Low meta modules are now so plentiful and cheap, that there seems to be very little reason to build, buy or fit most T1 modules.

Similarly, high meta modules are also plentiful and cheap, making most T2 modules less worthwhile to use. With the exception of T2 guns/launchers, most meta 4 modules are equal or near-equal to T2 modules in performance, while being easier to fit.

So, what modules are still worth manufacturing?

Off hand, I'd think it would only make sense to build modules which have no meta versions (such as the new Drone Damage Amplifier), and T2 guns/launchers.

Some Meta 4 items that cost more then Meta 5 (T2) before... whatever happened happened... May possibly hurt T2 items, thought its really to early to tell.

Modules which have no meta / high requirements for T2 are usually worth building

T2 shield and armor modules are all much better than the T1 versions, and the T1 modules aren't worth making.

Some of the non-combat modules are the most profitable T1.

As for T2, the margins are good, but variable, you have to keep an eye out for cheap components (including datacores) and be prepared to stock up and change what you're making depending on market conditions.

T1 items have an innate demand equal to T2 demand, since you need them as inputs to build T2 products.

The real issue is with meta 4 items that are equal to T2 variants, as oversupply of such parts kills demand for both T1 and T2 items.

Given that you need the T1 BPO, in order to invent the T2 BPC (unless you own the T2 BPO), most T2 module manufacturers can easily build the required T1 modules themselves, without buying them from market. So, unless the T1 modules are selling below mineral prices, I do not think the demand for T1 modules for use in T2 module manufacturing is significant.

Meta 1-3 modules are always better than T1, so I also see that a glut of low meta modules is making most T1 module manufacturing not worthwhile.

It is also interesting to note that the supply of T1 modules is now completely tied in with mineral prices, since T1 modules no longer drop from NPC wrecks and must be manufactured; whereas the supply of meta modules is more or less independent of mineral prices, depending only on the loot tables, and the number of players looting NPC wrecks, esp. from missions. Note: I say "more or less independent" since some folks prefer to reprocess their loot and sell it as minerals.

In theory, the meta module prices should be lower-bound constrained by the mineral reprocessing value, assuming that supply exceeds demand. So, if certain meta modules reprocess into less minerals than are required to build the T1 equivalent, then those particular meta modules will be inherently cheaper than the T1 modules, despite the superior performance. I find this to be particularly odd.
