You don't get it, this is what the game's supposed to be. What you're looking for is a game very much like EVE, but without the a$$hat factor. What you don't get is that this game was designed by and for the a$$hat factor.

Unsubscribing so they'll change is a waste of time, a forlorn hope, a silly fantasy. Deal with it as it is, or just stop paying to get pissed off.

Either way, face reality.

CCP wants more nullsec industrialists, and not just the supercapital type.

We're trying to help them. Well actually industrialists like selling all the ships (hulks, cats) but it's the miners. But CCP wants more nullsec mining as well.

Having 3 accounts dedicated to mining and orcas, all I can say is

Bugger it. I will happily close my extra accounts and if some unsuspecting fool crosses my path in an exhumer I will happily blow it and the other 9 up for the hundred mill.

If CCP didn't want mining in hi-sec to stop they would stop this. They haven't so I say, hell lets kill some hulks Big smile
Edit: Could someone post a link for the best gank ship to kill a tanked hulk. Thanks:)

On a completely different note, will the prize rise as ship prices skyrocket? We may see a point where 100M isn't enough to pay for a frig capable of ganking a hulk... I demand higher prizes...

Well at least the demand for T2 ships will go down. Who wants to fly a T2 ship that will be ganked or is used for ganking.

We only spent 20b on May payouts - less than two tech moons' worth of income for this month. This program is surprisingly cheap to run for us, and if the time comes when 10m+loot won't make up for the cost of a gank Catalyst, I'm sure that we can dedicate a whole third tech moon to make up for that.

I fully support this new emerging gameplay, hi sec mining was so boring without it. The only thing you had to worry about was the rats and that not even a worry really.

What, exactly, are they to "stop?" Killboards? People paying people for doing something they appreciate in game? Suicide ganking?

All 3 are laughable, the third with a hearty Gently Caress Yourself on top of it.

I support this endeavour.

And as soon as we have customisable ship skins, every ganker who is flying with my corporation logo on their hull will be sponsored with an additional 10M per gank (paid every 10 ganks).

I used to fear and respect the Goons and what they could do.

I was a miner, I had a good time busting rocks and listening to pod casts while making sure nobody ganked me. Under normal circumstances it was rare to see somebody trying to do that outside of hulkageddon, at least for me. My first day in this game I got ganked and have been several times since. It never made me quit. It only made me want those damn space rocks more.

Since Hulkageddon started I've been bored to tears running missions. I have very limited game time and am on call. Filling my mining vesels with ore and leaving when I got called out was ideal for me. I don't have the time to join a major corp, I don't have the wherewithall to move to null despite really wanting to. I really wanted my own POS and to be able to tell people I knew that I'd moved to null sec "where the game really is played" but I don't have time. I love this game, I love the danger. I love space.

I really do not want to get into details here but the time I did spend in eve mining was my happy place. I've read threads where people are complaining "casuals aren't involved! they're the scum of this universe! They don't know how to play EVE right!" and so on. As if there's a right or wrong way to play this game. I can see your point of view and stiring the pot like this to get what you want is also a remarkably good use of your alliance and alts. Using the catch phrase "emergent gameplay" must really get you guys off because that's all I've been seeing on the boards but it doesn't matter a hill of beans.

I took the 30 day hulkageddon with a grain of salt because I knew it'd be over and I could eventually get back to my happy place. You're ruining the game for your profit at the cost of other peoples enjoyment.

There is no happy place for me in this game anymore so I've unsubbed. OTEC is brilliant and I salute you for that, using hulkageddon to get what you want and lining your pockets is a 1-2 punch of amazingness.

You've killed this game for me though. I hope you haven't ruined it for too many other people.

tl;dr goons have taken it too far. Save the "u mad?" **** for people that are mad. I'm just disapointed and am going to go have a good cry now,

I would ask you how much time you really think it takes to "be" in a major corp, but I doubt you've thought about much of anything outside of I WANT TO MINE HULK BUT GOONS.

There are days I work 18 hours. Got to sleep some time. Got to do all the normal things people do some time. Eve was the "me" time I managed to eek out some days. I've mined in just about every ship including a BS I bought when I realized other miners were getting ganked near by. I can't justify joining somebodies corp and them expecting me to show up for things when I can't ever tell when I'll be back online. Yes I have thought about how much time, time is all I think about.

That's the point, though. There's tons of corps that won't expect you to, and you're far from the only person with a short/sporadic window to play Eve. Lots of people that play Eve are adults with jobs, families, etc. Even if you joined a bad corp, what's the worst that could happen? You leave? They kick you out? So what! It amounts to nothing in the end.

If you're well and truly done with Eve, then that's fine, save yourself the subscription fee. Blaming it on Hulkageddon is just laziness though - there were plenty of options available to you, you just decided not to truly explore any of them.

You are aware that there are regions of space where the density of gankers is about zero?
