Dumb question but if this system is automated why don't you guys pay up on every hulk popped instead of waiting for 10?

Actually automating sending the isk would be botting: we must have an actual human do that part. All of the stuff to give him a list of people to pay, we can automate. Doing ten at once means that one guy has to do 1/10th of the work.

You have sown the wind, Mittani. Now, you shall reap the whirlwind. Hope you like the ride. We will drive you and your Goonie cohorts out of this game, if it takes us years to do it. We will prove that the good guys always win in the end :o) (and no, you were never one of them - you delusional sad case).

CCP: when MOO used laser alpha strike gate camps to force extreme changes to the game, killing huge numbers who did nothing but fly through a gate, you responded by nerfing all of Amarr lasers into oblivion for years. Fast-forward to now, we have an alliance using the suicide ganking mechanic galaxy wide to accomplish nearly the same objective... a situation now threatening to be made worse by their "emerging gameplay" announced inititive extending their "event" year round.

When are you going to admit that suicide ganking performed on top of the line mining vessles is over powered to the point something needs to change? I see no difference in this extreme act and that of the MOO gate camps.

I am not advocating removal of ganking.. but this is out of control and overpowered the way it exists at the moment.

  - remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not  "afk" cloaking -

How tedious.

Good luck guys. Down with lame game play (mining as it exists needs to be put in the blender)

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

It's a killboard scraper. It doesn't hammer the killboards, it's a cronjob IIRC.

npc alts have no opinions worth consideration

No, mining needs to be made more fun, inter-active and profitable.

But miners also need to HTFU, move to low-/nullsec/WH (if they want profits! highsec is for noobs and traders), and realise they can't dictate their gameplay on others.. and think they can use their best endgame vessels 'safely' in highsec.

This thread was an incredibly fast read for me. 97% of the posters in here I already have blocked for some reason. Lol

I must say I did prefer it when Helicity Boson ran this event. Felt more personable and had real meaning. Blink I of course fully expect about four pages of blocked posters to rage at that comment, but I couldn't care less.

Not getting ganked while mining is one of the easiest things to do in this game. Sorry you can't AFK mine anymore. Miners wanted mining to be more interesting, now it is! Big smile

I'd love to move my supercaps to highsec, please tell me how I do it?

Mining frigate > mining cruiser > barges > exhumers. Then of course they have their logistic/support/industrial line too.

Combat pilots is far from similar, you don't go bigger and bigger size, for example. My most used combat ships are cruiser (recon, t3) and frigate (dictor, ceptor) hulls. You can't even clearly say something is 'best'. But the most powerful ones, without a doubt, is the supercaps, and while we can/do use them in PvE.. they can't enter high. Neither can regular caps. Miners are spoiled and can use their 'capital ship' (exhumers) line in highsec. That's a mistake CCP did and should correct, exhumers should be low-/nullsec/WH only, just like the capital line is.

AFK-cloaking in a system near you.

I don't get it. Maybe I'm not meant to. I'm not an afk miner, I only active mine to get materials to make missles. Still...

There are as many reasons why people play games as there are gamers. What I am fairly certain of is two things. One, people play games for enjoyment. Two, people do not normally enjoy failing.

Now in many people's opinion afk mining is failing. Fair enough, that is their opinion and they are entitled to it. But keep in mind someone is enjoying the rewards they receive from afk mining. You take that away and you potentially take away their desire to play. You win but we lose a member to the community. One that might not be replaced.

Another adage to keep in mind is everything in moderation. Too much of a "good thing" is rarely a good thing.

I am delighted to announce that Goonswarm Federation will be increasing its support to the broader EVE community - to any player, not just those in our alliance, even those who are hostile to us - by continuing our sponsorship of the "Hulkageddon" player event indefinitely.

Hulkageddon V has been the most successful in history, partially because of our sponsorship subsidizing independent participants at even the most casual level. This has brought the community together as never before - and we're going to keep giving back to the community even though the official contest has ended!

We will continue running our automated killboard system, and - just as during the event - for every block of 10 exhumers you destroy, Goonswarm Federation will send you 100m isk. You don't even have to do anything to apply for the isk, it's entirely automated, allowing you to focus completely on ganking - our effort-free gift to those brave players who make EVE unique and interesting.

If you somehow missed Hulkageddon and would like to consider exhumer ganking as a profession, check out the 'Getting Started' tutorial here. Even casual ganking can rack up 10 kills in a day!

So here's to you, Hulkageddon participants! You keep making this wonderful game great, and we'll foot the bill - this one's on us!

Wow. Fresh off the mountain. A proclamation from on high. Thesaurus in lap. Spew spew spew. Fabulous warriors attacking unarmed ships makes the "...wonderful game great...."
You so funny, GI. Me love you long time. Pay up front. No offense.

I'm pretty new to EvE, my friend signed me up and dumped a bunch of ships and junk on me and pointed me to RvB. While the game play is fun I'm been wondering how i would replace the ships I currently go though.

Let me get this straight:

I can get into the same ship I loose nightly and kill people mining and when I get ten of them you pay me 100 million isk?

This has to be a scam.

And so, Eve Online ceased to be a credible MMO and faded into obscurity to join it's kin - Asherons Call 2, Earth & Beyond, Tabula Rasa, Star Wars Galaxies and many others.

They welcomed EvE-O as it spun it's tale of destruction from the inside out and they nodded in solemn agreement, they knew the story all too well.

I believe other game developers will look at EvE Online and see what happened and the days of a sandbox MMO are over. Future Devs will not give this much freedom to players to completely wreck the game for (half/quarter?) the playerbase.

Regardless, This is Eve Online - HTFU or take your ball and go home. Some are and will? Who knows. Arrow

Brilliant.

I bet Goonswarm has industrialists making Hulks to replace those that are lost.

Economic warfare at its finest.

Lies. Goonswarm does not have any Industrialists. We certainly do not have a vast collection of researched BPOs of the various exhumer hulls and equipment, and we certainly do not have people working around the clock on creating a huge stockpile of these for a future intentional and artificial Technetium drought that will cause the prices of hulks to go up 5000% just in time for us to start selling them in Jita.

We also absolutely do not have nullsec mining ops going round the clock to stockpile billions of minerals to make up for the sudden lack of cheap / free minerals from the Drone regions and nerf to Meta 0 drops.

Absolutely none of these disastrous rumors have any bearing in reality and you should continue playing the game as normal.

The irony is that Goonies claim that Hulkageddon is some sort of righteous crusade against greedy hi-sec industrialists, when they are the greediest, most ruthless profiteers in the game. Their egos are matched by their hypocrisy, evidently....
