Here's the thing though. We don't need money and we don't need silly gimmicks to make money. Fun fact: The CFC is holding a cooking competition where the prize pool is 45 billion isk. That's right, 45b just for cooking an awesome meal. We pay our pilots to lose ships not only in fleet, but not in fleet goofing off in overpriced pimp ships. Like that? Yeah, it's pretty darn cool. I just burned a stack of isk just cause, just now.

You think we need silly gimmicks to raise the price of tech? That's effort. The market does all the work for us and we just throw money around like it's happy sillytime. That's also the reason we pay for hulkageddon, it's just fun to do and it's hilarious to watch how people react when we do it. What's even better is watching others get in on the fun and learn how awesome it is to do and how much rage is generated.

So there you go. You don't need to spin wackjob conspiracy theories to nail down why this is happening, just go to the most simple one. It's fun and really doesn't break the bank to support so it's a no brainer to encourage it to continue.

I run this cooking contest. I seriously get absolutely ******** amounts of isk to give to people for cooking things. For this next round, I'm probably going to buy a shuttle and fill it with goggles, just because.

I probably will give it to someone who didn't even enter the contest.

I would be more concerned as to whether CCP would consider that RMT.

You are swapping a real life commodity, a good meal for Isk. Contest or not it involves a real life good for an in game benefit.

Their RMT laws can be a bit funny at times.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

I am delighted to announce that Goonswarm Federation will be increasing its support to the broader EVE community - to any player, not just those in our alliance, even those who are hostile to us - by continuing our sponsorship of the "Hulkageddon" player event indefinitely.

Hulkageddon V has been the most successful in history, partially because of our sponsorship subsidizing independent participants at even the most casual level. This has brought the community together as never before - and we're going to keep giving back to the community even though the official contest has ended!

We will continue running our automated killboard system, and - just as during the event - for every block of 10 exhumers you destroy, Goonswarm Federation will send you 100m isk. You don't even have to do anything to apply for the isk, it's entirely automated, allowing you to focus completely on ganking - our effort-free gift to those brave players who make EVE unique and interesting.

If you somehow missed Hulkageddon and would like to consider exhumer ganking as a profession, check out the 'Getting Started' tutorial here. Even casual ganking can rack up 10 kills in a day!

So here's to you, Hulkageddon participants! You keep making this wonderful game great, and we'll foot the bill - this one's on us!

So you are forcing the solo miner out of the game. Some of us just wanna mine and trade. I dont afk-mine and I never will and I only go into low-sec to trade when there is a good sale to be made. You aren't helping me enjoy the game in a new way. You are limiting my options.

Oh, and no, no one should have to subtract the price of your plex. Most nullsec pilots don't make enough to plex 3-4 accounts, even with the fact that we allegedly make more than anyone but possibly WH guys. Why should someone who sits in effortless safety that they did not work for be able to?

I made enough to "plex 3-4 accounts" (4 to be exact) in 0.0 by doing L4 missions, selling pirate BPCs and similar. I was a friggin 20M SP character!

Are you guys really so bad?

It is not that we are really that bad, it is that we REALLY have a life outside of Eve. :P

And what time we do spend playing is usually eaten up dealing with having to PVP all the time.

VV, sounds like you were in a defensive alliance. We are not. We don't camp the gates at our borders, we WANT enemies to bring fleets so we can fight them.

It does mean we have less time to make isk and have a higher isk outlay to replace ships(somehow even the 150% SRF on losing a scimi still leaves me having to pay a little bit out of pocket for mods) as well has having to maintain a fairly fat wallet to replace our ships so we have something til the SRF pays out.

Oh, and for me, oxytopes are expensive as hell for someone who loves to use his jump drive at the slightest excuse.

Just thinking about it and the possibility of it happening is awesome, and is what generates so much fuss in the media other games only dream of getting.

One would think that with the huge mass media exposure EvE gets, we should have 2M subs.

Looks like all this advertising has the same staying effect of a wet fart.

Better than the "publicity" Eve gets as an in-depth mining simulator, or the rave reviews it's gotten for it's dynamic mission system or something. Which is to say - none.

Honestly, when's the last time you heard about eve because the person's stance was that the pve was just so interesting? What?

Solo miners who dont socialize, mine AFK, dont fit a tank and dont want to adapt anyway.

They were bound to quit anyway.

The game can either respect your wish to not get ganked or my wish to gank you. If you want yours respected, go to WOW. Here in EVE, I win.

I've become more of a chaos theorist in the last couple years. I used to hate miner gankers with a passion, but now, I don't care anymore.

If the highsec miners stay and are forced to adapt to nullsec, awesome.
If they quit in large numbers and mineral prices go through the roof, awesome.
If for some reason resources dry up because of this, hey, that'll be funny.

I'm just returning from an 11 month hiatus, and this is why I really want to experience nullsec.

That and I have got to learn to stay off the forums. Nearly every single game forum I go to nowadays is a cesspool of idiocy. BF3, Halo, Eve...the list goes on.

Earlier today, the Dixon Mining Guild and the Butz Manufacturing Corporation formed a coalition.

It's hard to tell if there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the Dixon-Butz Alliance.
