Be patient, Eve is unlike any other game in that it takes time to achieve certain goals and more often than not that time is invaluable to your ability to be capable. There is nothing wrong with having a ship goal in mind and training along those lines but as others have said the longer you play Eve you will get a feel for how big this game really is and when it comes to Caps/Supers/Titans the amount of time/isk and support needed to undock them can be astounding.

I would encourage you to join a relaxed pvp corp such as RvB or another entity to learn very basic pvp mechanics and as you get your Core Fitting skills up you will start to have a feel for gameplay and find what ship style you like. Remember that if you take the time to get your fitting skills up first it will help you more than you can imagine in the long run. Again be patient.

Good luck.

If you move to 0.0 and join a decent alliance, then eventually you will want a carrier to move your stuff around. By the time you can fly and fit that properly, you'll realize that it's almost never needed in combat.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.
