Lost Items In Trade Window

I cancelled a trade with my alt and lost all the items in the trade window. Neither of my characters have the items now. I've tried reproducing the issue and about 20% of the time the items will vanish into thin air.

Just an FYI to everyone that cancelling a trade might (not every time) cause the items in the trade window to disappear.

Greetings capsuleer,

There are ways for capsuleers to exploit such a trade interface. It is always recommended to use a Contract instead. However, I have had a recent problem with the mechanisms station staff use to store items. It seems they misplace them occasionally and retrieving them is difficult. The local station manager had the following to say:

Quote:

This is a known display issue that cropped up with the Inferno expansion. It doesn't affect everyone, but we have our programmers on the case and they are looking into possible solutions. We will of course be addressing this issue as soon as possible.

For now, the workaround we've seen from other players is two-fold. We unfortunately cannot guarantee it will work and would therefore appreciate it if you could reply back here if this doesn't work for you:

  • For ships: You should still be able to see them through your assets window. Board them from there and they should show up normally after that.
  • For items: Use the assets window again, but this time select the items and create a contract. Assign the contract to your character and after it's set up, delete it. This should return the items back into your hangar and make them visible once more.
You have to be careful here to make the contract 'private' and make sure you assign it to your own character.

Our apologies for the inconvenience this is causing and we thank you for your patience.

I hope this helps you as well.

Thanks for the info. However, the lost items do not show up in my assets list or in the contract list for selecting items.

Edit: Why would I exploit/scam my own alt?

Same problem, I've missing a stack of 40 Heatsink 2's since the patch, no idea where they went. I thought I might have accidently dropped them in a ship with the fine new interface, but I've searched everything, and they are gone....
GG CCP, I know we just rent this stuff, but it would be nice to have stuff not disappear.

With all they junk I have, there is no way for me to know what else is missing, until I go looking for it...Oops

My Tinfoil hat has been sugically implanted, so no,it is not for sale.....
