Game crashing after going in game

So, I just recently upgraded from a trial account to a full account, installed the new patch and tried logging on

I was able to log on, then I started on one of my characters, the game played for a bit and then crashed.

Tried making a new character, got all the way through 'til I got to the starting station, got a few lines of dialog from the guide and then the game crashed.

What's going on? Is there a fix for this?
