Funny to see all the gankers who have killed over 7000 innocent hulk pilots in Hulkageddon V, say ;

1)Not our fault , the numbers are dropping cos of Diablo 3 (HG V started before its release and numbers started to drop)

2)its summer time, thats why we got 35k on weekends (plenty more players summer 2010, go figure)

3) school exams are on

people leave cos their 300mil ships are killed over and over, and theyre not gonna throw good Real money into a game for nothin.

Its summer for half the world, also several new mmo's have been released, most notably Diablo 3. So a lot fo people are (rather obviously) out doing things since its not cold anymore and the days are long, or still sitting in the basement just not playing EvE.

However, Diablo 3 is poor, having been delayed a couple years for "development" what we are presented with is a short game you have to play through 5 times to complete. It is finite like most games and so our pilots will return next week once they inevitably get bored.

One interesting fact is that most shops in the uk are selling out of D3 within hours of delivery, and as a result they have been selling on ebay for around £50. I live on the isle of wight in the uk, our tescos has not sold out once and has been supplying ebay for days at £32 a pop >:)

Having seen D3 and heard from friends who play it, i have not once been tempted to keep a copy and play it. Eve isn't dying, it just fluctuates. Get used to it.

Now it has ~40 000 online.
Let's calculate the growth as a factor.

Don't worry - summer combined with Mehferno, Mehblo III and Meh514 won't kill EVE. Maybe there will be 20% layoff again in CCP in most unfortunate circumstances (like 10% subscriptions loss) - but it's not critical for EVE as we've seen 6 months ago.

Meh. I don't see a problem. I feel the graphs aren't as important as some people think. Besides, I didn't realise we were up to 50,000 people on the server again. Do graphs lie?

These graphs look kind of odd cause in the week graph it has probably 2 weeks. The 24 hour one is more like 48 hours.
I feel that Chribba has labelled the graphs wrong.

Didnt break 40k, but its not a problem, its the J curve !

See its going down now, but soonish numbers are going to leap up at a near vertical pace...well that how Paul KEating (Australian Ex Prime Minister and Treasurer) explained away bad news.
