I sometimes see threads closed for.... odd... reasons. I think CCP actively closes threads that dont agree with their ideology, or would threaten their authority. What do you think?

Nope. They close threads when their is already a large popular one on the topic. They don't want thirty threads on the same thing with 8 or 9 posters 80% posting in the popular thread pushing every other real question or opinion off the front page of the forum.

Angry rants go but if you say the same thing in a reasonable tone without gratuitous caps locks and cursing they keep it open.

Threads discussing moderation as well.

Trust me when I say that this is one of the least moderated Big MMO Forums I have ever been on. F2P MMO's often operate like 3rd World Dictatorships. In contrast to CCP which is full of whine threads, just full of them.

OP, almost the exact opposite.
CCP is extremely permissive with threads that disagree with them.
However, they are relatively intolerant of blatant trolling, complete nonsense, and duplicate threads.

P.S. The definition of "complete nonsense" might include some things some people would consider justifiable, but they're usually wrong Twisted
