Is a Manticore viable as a FW plex ganker?

I'm asking because I've wanted to fly a manticore since I started the game, not long ago, and have just finished training skills for it, including cloack, bombs, and torpedoes.

My questions is, is it a viable ship to gank frigs, cruisers, etc while they run plexes? If so, can you please provide some tips, and if not, why isn't it viable?

Edit: I've tried ganking other frigates while flying a kestrel, or caracal, but they all run away before I can close the 60km gap until the contesting outpost, I'm hoping I can get close with the Manticore since it has stealth.

Thanks.

In a word, no. You aren't going to kill a frigate or cruiser with a solo Manticore unless you land a perfectly placed bomb (assuming you are in 0.0) and they are terrible at the game. Might have a good chance of killing a ratting BS or something though.

Damnit, I was afraid of that answer. Then what ship would you suggest I should use for ganking? Also, would it help if I was with a friend, also piloting a manticore?

Cloaky t3 I prefer the Tengu but I am also going to train for a Loki. Bombers are better for Industrial ships and Battleships.

Oh, Do go on... no seriously ive got nothing better to do then listen to all the petty arguments and feeble trolling attempts...

Confirming above. Stealth bombers CAN solo but it is definitely hard mode. Cloaky blaster proteus does exactly what you'd want a cloaky to do. Get in, point, and melt faces. Just be aware of who else is in system, losing a proteus does hurt most people's wallets.

He was asking about FW plexes, you silly donkeys. Cloaky T3s can only go into majors, thats 1/3 of plexes and definetly less than 1/3 of targets. Just fit a Thrasher with MWD, overheat it, overheat point and gank. A Caracal for example might decide to fight you, but most of the time you'll win.
If you just want to kill people who dont want to fight, your bomber can still work in FW. Fit rockets, learn to use the gate without decloaking, and kill enemy bombers in their missions:

ah see didnt notice that all i focused on was cloaky and gank... of course my Fw experience is slightly limited... except if a caracal can fit couldnt a Strat Cruiser i mean they both are "Cruisers"

Edit: other cruisers are the recons (Falcon for the win) frigate wise i know one of the EASs have a long point and disrupt range... neither option are instagib but they keep the target from killing you while you kill them

No. FW plexs are limited by both size and meta level.

Manticore is pretty good actually if you fit it right, fairly tricky to fly and relatively shiny. Works best with halos (not included in the link)

Fit

Youtube

As for a standard fit manticore you have a fairly small engagement envelope.

A falcon is too big for this kind of complex.

Nemesis was running mission, right? I run my missions with Rook, Naga and Tengu, don't tell me my Falcon is too fat. :))
In case it was a medium plex, then decloak the Blackbird obviously. There is a reason it has so many high slots, you know. Bear

Your falcon is indeed too fat but for another reason : it's an easy ship to uncloak when you jump a gate. Don't even start me with your naga/rook, I guess your matar/amarr lowsec is quieter than my dear Placid. Blink

Stop derailing this thread even more! If my Rook can go, so can the Falcon. Admit you were wrong! Bear

And yes it is. You can literally run missions for hours without seeing anyone. Ugh
