Aura's tutorial and missing skill books

Edit2: Ah, I located the issue here. You do receive the Repair Systems skill book, you just receive it in an earlier tutorial. However, this tutorial never shows unless your game is set to load the Captain's Quarters. Which means that if you've already created a character, hit the "Enter Ship Hangar" button, logged out and made a new character, the tutorial skips the CQ steps which means you end up without a skill book for Shield Operations or Repair Systems.

Aura gave me a Small Armor Repairer I, but not the skill book (Repair Systems) that would have enabled me to fit it. The skill book costs 20,000+ ISK on the Market and you only have 6,000 ISK at that point in the tutorial.

Normally not a big issue, except the next tutorial mission has you shooting up a depot which then explodes, causing armor damage. You're told to repair the damage before continuing.

I really, really recommend that you send someone through the tutorials to sort this out. It's not ideal when the tutorial gets the player stuck ~2 minutes into the game.

While you're at it, have someone run through the Career Advancement tutorials as well. Same stuff is happening there.

Edit: For anyone else in the same situation, let your shield regenerate and then continue to the next part of the tutorial (through the Acceleration Gate). You'll have to kill two enemies, but only one at a time, and they barely hit you. You can buy the Repair Systems skill book off the Market later on, if you don't get it from a future tutorial (it's sort of crucial to Gallente/Amarr pilots).

Or you can run the turorial manually, open help, pick the tutorial, which is probably called Armor Repair or Armor Tanking or something like that, click through it and the Skill book magically appears in your inventory at the end.

I know that is not much use if you don't know about this issue. But your end comment is unnecessary.

When this happened to me on an alt switching to the CQ and restarting the client made that tutorial pop up after all.

That said this really needs to be fixed.

Or you could go to the help-channel and ask there. That will likely net you a couple of millions ISK in donations from your fellow sympathetic co-players... Cool

No, it isn't. Getting started is hard enough without captain's quarter tutorial bugs and sorting them out asap is good advice. Although, having to find workarounds for bugs and unfinished "features" is a good thing to have in the tutorial so there's no surprises later?
