I do think that you highsec players are wrong and terrible, it's a waste of a glorious game to play it the way some people do, and if you actually step back and look at it there's nothing attractive about it, which is why CCP don't make cool trailers and try to sell the game using the epic story of how some guy ran Angel Extravaganza for the 10th time in his officer fit Golem.

But regardless of your opinions if you're finding yourself losing interest in the game to the point where you're going to unsub, then clearly it's time to try something new, and Eve has a lot of new stuff to offer.

Perhaps the approach of a null sec alliance can be daunting and maybe it’s not what you know but who you know, null sec hate high sec players, so how can anyone move on? How does TEST look for new players, that won’t get scammed? Or treated as a joke?

Nullsec alliances recruit from anywhere. Other corps in the alliance will have their different methods, standards and requirements with which I'm not familiar. I'm in Dreddit and we'll take anyone with an active Reddit account who just signed up to Eve today. We take 1 day old clueless newbies, give them a Rifter, and titan bridge them into a 600 man fleet battle alongside battleships, capitals and supercaps. They may die gloriously but they'll have more fun than they would have doing the epic mission arc. Some become heroes and get stations named after them.

Also we in nullsec don't 'hate' people in highsec, hate requires more energy than we're willing to put in. They're just insigificant to us, and their whining annoys us when they have the best sources of isk for the smallest amount of risk. We'll occasionally take some time to mess with them, like holding a magnifying glass over the ants nest with campaigns like Burn Jita or Hulkageddon, but it's just fun for us at their expense.

The people that annoy me though are those who are so risk averse that they want to remove all PvP from the game or arrange things so that they're effectively invincible, people who don't want to try, people who should be playing WoW or some kind of single player game.

I think a revamp of the PVE aspects/storyline would go a long way towards maintaining interest.

It's all well and good to be a sandbox where the story is dictated by the players. However, when said story is being driven by cretins and children, it falls woefully short.

The story line has been dead along time it would be nice for CCP to invest some time in this area.

Even running a courier delivery mission is a pain in the a**.

It's just quite simply too late. Over and over again the same thing. One would have thought last Summer was the end of the crap.

Thats probably one of the most intelligent questions ever asked on any EVE forum - kudos to you, sir

Lol

I have noticed though that when I log on (EU prime time, around 1900 game time), there have recently been around 38k players online, which is quite a lot down on the more usual 45k. Maybe because the sun has now appeared in UK skies, we're all spending the evenings outside...

For the record I'm not unsubbing. I wouldnt do that unless there was actually something important to unsub over.

Removing PvP is a ludicrous suggestion. I dont consider myself Hi, Lo, Null or WH, but I'm pretty damn certain from a few years of playing this game that almost no-one in any part of space wants to remove PvP.

I mean, dont you think your tarring all "pubbies" with the same brush? It seems your blowing a few forum posts way out of proportion.

Besides, CCP put those features there, why cant people use them?

Go find me a quote where someone said they "want to remove all PvP from the game", im timing you.

If people who play WoW or single player games annoy you then maybe someone can help you with that.

Maybe I'm just cynical but the way I interpret your comment is:
"Ignore anyone who advises you to explore or broaden your horizons, knowing nothing other than highsec is okay because Eve is a sandbox and the player isn't forced to know anything but highsec."

What is a decision worth if it's not an informed decision? I played in empire for years, the game only really started for me when I left to live in null, I could never play in Empire again. Most of the people in highsec probably haven't ever known anything else (other than perhaps an EC-P8R gatecamp). If you've tried living in nullsec and you didn't like it, that's fair enough. But your comment seems to be saying that nobody should ever even try. Plus it's not like I was giving an order, just advice.

I did live in null sec. I was part of FCON, flying logi's against russian/ PL/ Raiden supercap fleets, trying to defend a Northern Coalition that had become tired of playing the game and folded up. My main has a scimitar loss with 6 supercarriers on the mail, and of course the Titan that finally DD'ed my logi.

FCON had awful space, was an awful alliance, yet ironically has been one of the few alliances to survive, even flourish after NC died. I have lived in wormholes for extended periods of time, twice. That is actually a good time, but gets extremely difficult living in a C5 without a dedicated crew of critical mass online every day.

So I went back to empire as a holding pattern until I could sort out what to do next.
That was prior to goons, with tacit acceptance, if not outright complicity of CCP's dev's, altered game play to strengthen the null sec power blocs' collective control of the game.

Since then, I have witnessed the rise in power of goons, test, and the rest of the cfc.
As that power rose, I have witnessed the increasingly malicious attacks in game and especially on the forums by the propaganda teams of the null sec zealots.
I have witnessed multiple changes to the games by a lead developer who was ex-goon, and may still be goon, that have had huge negative impact on high sec players, all of which (by pure coincidence I am sure) align perfectly with the desires of the most fervent null sec zealots to wipe out high sec.

As I have witnessed this fundamental shift in the game, I have become increasingly disillusioned with Eve and CCP. I don't really give a damn that goons have risen to be the preeminent power in null. Null sec empires have risen and fallen throughout the history of the game. Congrats to them for pulling it off.

But what I hate now is the fundamental arrogance and malice the null sec zealots display to all empire dwellers and the unfairness that CCP increasingly is building into the game, allowing the null sec zealots to further their agenda.

I have had enough, and this account's last plex lapses in early June.
Maybe there is a tiny minority of players that are quitting.

CCP WAS given the warning....CCP is A corporation, not corporations. CCP WERE given a warning - though this new fashion in subject verb disagreement is a rage sweeping England, it's grammatically incorrect.

If you want plural you'd say "The members of CCP are"

If you say "CCP" then you have to say "is" cause it's singular...ONE corporation.

It's like Manchester United. That's not plural either. It's A team. It's not TEAMS. Manchester United IS. The playerS of Manchester United ARE.

And I thought U.S. schools sucked.

The right to free speech doesn't automatically carry with it the right to be taken seriously.
