Yes yes Eve is dying, has been for 9 years now. Why don't you pop to Jita 4-4 and see what an empty desolate graveyard it is

The recent drop in carebears has impacted in my high sec region, the lack of these players has lead to a drop in PVP and now the new expansion could have put the last nail in the coffin , market movement has dropped of massively and its mostly newbies purchasing ships on the market.

Players spin ships, run missions, read forums and hope that some of their questions get answered.
CCP are losing the battle and maybe now it’s out of their control, new player base is unaware of issues and existing players have lost their passion, it’s not all bad, there has been some good changes, but I’m not sure it’s enough, CCP were given the warning signs but perhaps because they are a peaceful race didn’t heed them.

To all the players in New Eden, I salute you and I hope that you continue to play through these tough times and maybe in a week or two New Eden will return to its forma glory. Present CCP with real ideas and facts and leave petty squabbles behind, CCP is a real corporation with employees and families who need stability, so don’t unsubscribe move forward, breathe life back into New Eden.

Damn, that earns a thumps up from me!

I suspect that what is really happening, is that players are just not playing until CCP sort out the inventory system then we shall see a return to normal play levels.

Warm weather in the UK as well, so many of us are making the most of our probable week long summer.

This is not a signature.

I only returned 2 days ago after a 7 month absence , a combination of a burnout and feeling unhappy on where CCP was taking the game

The new expansion looks nifty , no comment on that , but what really saddened me is that nobody of my eve buddies still plays, in those seven months i was aay they all left all 14 of them , and when i read the evemails they left behind the main reason was that a small but loud minority of players think it is their godgiven task to rid EVE from all so called carebears and other non 'real'pvp content
I will miss them , EVE is much more lonely without them, they were good people i trusted themand we had great a time , i think we just did everything you could think of ,wars, wormholes ,explorations, even nullsec for a while, some great epic adventures but still all miners and manufacturers as our favorite past time
This is what EVE should be

but like i said there is this loud minority that is convinced that there is no place for players like that in this game and it also seems that they are winning the debate in game and on these forums

If this trend continues high sec will be a very lonely place in a year time with only so called real pvpers , cough cough
I would love to see their face when they realize that a plex doesn't even cover the price of a single t1 cruiser

I am not asking to make high sec 100% safe i never will that is against the spirit of the game I only ask that everybody can enjoy this game how it should be played on different lvls and with different proffesions and not just one

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

You mean the sandbox thing, where people get to make their own decisions about how they play ?

I hope that your friends could find the time to return to Eve, it makes the whole experience better, if you can contact them, then you should, you can never underestimate good quality friendships.

Maybe I'm just cynical but the way I interpret your comment is:
"Ignore anyone who advises you to explore or broaden your horizons, knowing nothing other than highsec is okay because Eve is a sandbox and the player isn't forced to know anything but highsec."

What is a decision worth if it's not an informed decision? I played in empire for years, the game only really started for me when I left to live in null, I could never play in Empire again. Most of the people in highsec probably haven't ever known anything else (other than perhaps an EC-P8R gatecamp). If you've tried living in nullsec and you didn't like it, that's fair enough. But your comment seems to be saying that nobody should ever even try. Plus it's not like I was giving an order, just advice.

Perhaps the approach of a null sec alliance can be daunting and maybe it’s not what you know but who you know, null sec hate high sec players, so how can anyone move on? How does TEST look for new players, that won’t get scammed? Or treated as a joke?

True but it sounded like you were saying "Your playstyle is wrong and you should change it". There is other parts to EVE other than null sec, and null isnt and never should be the sole purpose of EVE.

This is especially true for the UK, few weeks ago it was snowing up north, now its ridiculously hot.

There's that whole Diablo 3 thing too.

EVE 'dies' every summer.

Diablo 3 has no relevance to Eve, null sec or high sec.

Because there's absolutely no way a new release of any game that sold 3.5 mil copies in 24 hours would impact the number of players online in eve. Even WoW has been deserted this last week.

Eve encourages people to play other games but not for them to unsubscribe, I remember when I was lad, getting all excited about a new game release that will last me a few weeks and then I grew up.

Right its time for the list. As people don't seem to understand there are temporary external factors which influence people playing.

WEATHER! It's summer. The sun is out, the days are hot, and there is meat to be eaten, cider to be drunk, gardens to tend to.
EXAMS! While eve has a more mature player base, it can be said a fair whack of it is in education. It's exam time and people are revising up.
NEW GAMES! Diablo 3 is out, which is kind of a big deal. I know several of my friends have been playing it non stop since it came out, but they are now slowly bleeding back into EvE.

It's the same this time EVERY YEAR and yet people still ***** about it.

I lied :o

Tbh I agree with everything you said but this summer is the worst by far and most kids don’t give a flying F*** about their Exams, the one’s that do will still play Eve and borrows mum and dads credit card.

I think a revamp of the PVE aspects/storyline would go a long way towards maintaining interest.

It's all well and good to be a sandbox where the story is dictated by the players. However, when said story is being driven by cretins and children, it falls woefully short.

Eve is also spread out over many countries and not everyone is having glorious sun shine, some get glorious sunshine almost all year round.
Besides all of that, anyone who has lost a good mate recently due to various conditions should understand that its not just game play but friendships also.
