Adversity, n; a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, or distress.

It is a well-known fact that 98% of you will not join this corporation, let alone read this post in it's entirety. And that's fine, because It's also a known fact that 98% of you are haters, and there is no place for haters in Adversity. Unless you're hating your mortal enemies, arch-rivals, or just plain people that aren't as good at EVE as you, in which case it is perfectly fine.

That being said, we are a small, tight-knit group of active PvP'ers looking to wreak havoc across New Eden in whatever ways we can. We, as pilots, have previous experience ranging from being a part of 200-man Maelstrom blobs, 30 man gangs of faction BS + triage carriers, all the way down to 3 guys running around in assault frigates tearing apart anything they can catch.

98% (what a lovely number innit) of recruitment posts will tell you the same thing: we are a laid back corporation looking for good times and pew pew, will offer assistance and training where needed, etc etc. I would like to point out that this is NOT what Adversity. is all about. To clarify;

  • - We are lighthearted and jovial, but not laid back. When I hear the term "laid back," what comes to mind is "couldn't care less." I've had plenty of "laid back" FC's back in the day who didn't care if they couldn't put together or lead a proper fleet, who didn't care if they ordered their fleet into certain death with very slim possibility of getting ANY kills, let alone anything that would've been worth what they lost. Laid back FC's/CEO's/corps don't pride themselves on making themselves better, on being successful, or about having a name that is synonymous with respect and pride. We are lighthearted, love to joke around and sling **** at each other and have a good time, but we never take a "laid back" approach to our fleets or the way the corp is run.

  • - We are here for good times and pew pew, and we don't run from fights that we think we can at least have fun with. We aren't afraid to take risks; sometimes this means losing ships, sometimes it means losing fights. Instead of being butthurt and calling them fags and running from that opponent, we plot, we scheme, we throw a gf in local, we figure out how to beat them next time.

  • -We will offer assistance in ship fittings, logistics, and isk-making where possible, but by and large you are expected to be self-sufficient in terms of paying for your ships and making your own isk. We do not run any organized PvE ops, though that's not to say you can't organize your own (though good luck getting people to show up for it).

  • What we DO offer, is:

    • - We are largely mid- to late USTZ

    • - Both nullsec roams and lowsec piracy; we go where the fights are.

    • - We run specialized fleet comps; AF packs, kiting cruisers, nano BC's, black ops; no "kitchen-sink" fleets here.

    • - Currently we're based in Molden Heath.

"So what are you looking for?" you may ask yourself.

    [list]
  • - We are looking for pilots who aren't afraid to lose their ships in a goodfight. PIlots who aren't afraid to fight another gang without having twice their numbers, or as many ECM boats as the other gang has ships total. Pilots who aren't satisfied sitting around gatecamping all day, and want more out of PvP.

  • - Pilots who are willing to willing to learn, can give and take constructive criticism, and be an overall team player. You don't have to be a super space badass or some sort of space Chuck Norris to join. You just need to have a good foundation of PvP knowledge, as well as a willingness to learn more.

  • - Pilots with thick, thick skin who like to sit around and bullshit each other on TS while not in a gang (or even during). Pilots who aren't afraid too admit they love My Little Pony and Hannah Montana (because let's face it, you do). Pilots who overruse the word "bro," almost to a fault.

  • - Pilots who are self-sufficient isk-wise and are capable of hauling their own ****.

  • - Pilots with solo/small gang experience. I try to run fleets often but you should be capable of going out and making your own pvp happen if there is no organized gang roaming.

  • - We are only looking for applicants who have experience living in low/nullsec; I shouldn't have to explain to you why it's a bad idea to bring an orca into lowsec unscouted, or why fitting a non-covert ops cloak won't save you. I don't mind teaching you new tricks, fits or piloting techniques, but we aren't here to teach you basics. If your entire PvP experience is in RvB, don't get your hopes up.

  • - 15m SP minimum, this doesn't mean if you have 15m SP I will give you a free pass in. It means if you have 15m SP I will look at your skills/experience and consider the application instead of outright rejecting it.

  • - That being said, we intend to maintain the highest of standards for this corp; players who excel will be lauded and awarded, players who consistently fall short will be removed (aka consistently having bad fits, consistently being ganked doing stupid ****, having a bad attitude etc)

Generally any time from DT to DT, but we are most active from 23:00 to 09:00 on good nights. Have members from the UK and a smelly Aussie, so there is almost always someone online to talk to or pew with. Hit up our pub channel if you want to talk bro.
