launcher makes patching smoother, I'd only suggest having it close when I press play as I use mklink to have multiple settings from one install and the launcher doesn't quite play nice with that.

new inventory, tbh I hardly notice a difference. in some cases I think it is better. look like it is mostly just a complete pita at a pos

missiles, super duper! hardly need a $3000 comp to run them

local: what too scared to undock with a neutral in system?

WiS a ton of people want this, but yes the broom closet aka incarna was pretty lame

csm: Welcome to politics!

suicide ganking has been nerfed many times, concord has gotten boosted again and again, and just recently they removed the insurance payout for suicide ganking. yep ccp does nothing!

Lots of fun things promised in Inferno, problem is, most of them are CRAP, Not to mention you had a months of testing this and still like EVERY patch, you screwed it up amazingly and even at one broke the the new

*super launcher* which again NO ONE WANTED

The New Inventory - No one likes it, the few who do, ccp fanbois - No one wants it, but u refuse to remove it
Missile Effects - Again, CCP, please remember, not all of us have 3k to spend on pcs
Local Bug - This goes to local/alliance/corp/public chats/friends chats - still havent fixed it, gj

Now going back abit

Captains Quarters, walking in stations - NO ONE WANTED IT. But still u implemented it, i remeber the day we installed the patch, a 200 page long long *i turned it off* thread.

You use the CSM - fat lot of good that is, ego players who get what they want done for there alliance and ignore everyone else.

Now moving backup to date - the amount of anit gank threads is astounding across three sections of these forums. What do u do, most of the empire player base is screaming for a removal of sucicde ganking - what do u do, why ignore them ofc.

So when does this nicely scripted and make no mistake, scripted apology from hilmar come into effect?

Sumtimes* i wish i had the money to buy you out. So i could fire most fo your incompetent idiots and hire real devs who knew what they where doing instead of loosing track everytime a pair of **** walks past

Ok here we go:

The new inventory is better, that is a matter of opinion but whatever. It's easier to do **** with it, remember putting stuff into different cans to keep things organised? Now you don't have to, they made filters. You can move stuff from ships to inventory and vice versa much easier now, no need to open up cargo windows, ship window, item window whatever, it's all in one. Why do you not like the new inventory? IMO it's better.

Missile Effects: I run three clients on 2 monitors with everything turned up as high as it can go and the game runs perfectly. It limits to 60 fps and that is where it runs 99 percent of the time. I did not spend anywhere near three thousand dollars on my computer.

Local bug: I have not experienced this, so no comment.

Captain Quarters: Some people actually did want this, god knows why. It's horrible, horrible, horrible, and useless. Using this as an example however does not make sense, wasn't this BEFORE the apology letter? Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

CSM: Whatever, better than nothing? Probably. I don't see you giving up your time to attempt to help(or destroy if you dig tinfoil)the game.

Ganking: If CCP were to remove the ability to blow somebody up in high sec(with consequences of course)I would quit the game. I have never suicide ganked anyone. For every whiner anti gank thread there is I'm sure there's another that counters it. In fact, you could call this post a counter anti gank post.

Anything else?

New launchers and effects.... hell, i wanted them :)

Too much gfx? Upgrade. EVE isnt suposed to remain in the stone ages of effects just because people dont upgrade their pc's.

Captain quarters, yeah, useless, but i have faith that when Dust comes out walking in stations will gain meaning, and then it migth be cool.

Started reading this thread and about 1/2 way through it got totally disgusted at seeing the troll horde descending on this thread. The only posted reply in this thread that's actually worth reading and 100% true is this:

Jame Jarl Retief wrote:
OP,

While I totally agree with you on the "not listening" part, which very much reminds me of Incarna days, I disagree on some other fronts.

The launcher nobody wanted, true. But from tech perspective, it was necessary. Most MMOs, heck most games that are frequently updated have launchers. There's a reason for that.

The walking in stations and avatar gameplay, QUITE A FEW people did want. I'm one of them. I would have loved it if EVE played more like Mass Effect, where you could leave the ship and have meaningful gameplay. But when Incarna hit, all we got was an empty room, which naturally pissed people off, given that footage of stations, bars, etc., was shown years previously.

Also, apparently there was an interview with a Chinese or Korean website recently saying something that sounded like CCP is going back to avatar gameplay in 2013, because Asian gamers usually like to have a character to look at and it's important to EVE's survival in those areas. I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist of it if I remember right. So the whole Incarna mess ain't over yet! :)

CSM being useless bull dung? Yeap, totally agree with you there. The organization is a joke, election process is rigged, etc., etc.

High sec and anti-ganking? I'm undecided here. On one hand, yes, the vast majority of EVE's players live in high sec. It makes sense to cater to the majority of the population, from financial standpoint. But, if deaths in high sec stop, the economy might collapse. Some people in high sec have been using the same ship for 3-5 years, with more or less the same modules. It's by losing ships that the economy keeps moving. Stop the losses for 60% of population, and economy dies.

Though I agree that perhaps suicide ganking needs to be toned down. Currently it is just WAAAAY too easy to do. Also the repercussions for suicide ganking are virtually zero. Yeah, you lose the ship you're in, but since it is designed for this specific purpose, it is not an issue, as your kill's value typically compensates. The sec status loss can be recovered from as well, so it is not really a deterrent.

Which leads me to believe that perhaps sec status loss should be permanent and account-wide. That is, once you go red, you stay that way for that account, forever. People will still make alt accounts, but it'll slow them down a bit, I think. I mean, EVE simulates reality in many ways. In reality, if you commit a felony, it stays on your record forever. You can't vote, you can't own a firearm, etc., etc., for the rest of your life. Same thing should happen in EVE, it totally fits into the whole "make choices and live with the consequences" bunk that the "hardcore" players have been trying to sell for years.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything in that reply and should point out that the new Inventory wasn't mentioned. I've seen maybe a dozen players say they like it compared to a dozen threads filled with players who don't like it. I for one think the Inventory application was a complete waste of CCP's time and resources.

I've never once seen any threads posted asking for it. It is an unfinished application that was added to this game without a request from the players. The op was pointing out how CCP once again has gone off on a tangent and instead of listening to the players, decided to quickly implement their own outrageous idea into the game before it was ready while ignoring the feedback from the test server. Also CCP has once again ignored a lot of other various issues and options requested by players.

Lastly, those of you telling the op to STFU and leave this game, follow your own advice.

So you're confirming that you find it impossible to consider opposing viewpoints? People not agreeing with your (and your kind) "vision" of what's right in EVE are trolls and fan boys and of course, most certainly disturbed in RL?

In my opinion, the OP is the troll here. Others are just sick of the same old garbage being posted. There's only so many times you can reply politely to repetitive idiocy.

No, an opposing viewpoint is fine, as long as it's not disrespectful. Nobody is twisting arm's forcing players to post sarcastic replies intended to berate and demean.

Posting statements such as - "People not agreeing with your (and your kind) "vision" of what's right in EVE are trolls and fan boys and of course, most certainly disturbed in RL?" is you making an assumption about me and an attempt at trying to place me into a specific group, not to mention portraying my statement in a different viewpoint to say the least. Agree with many of the OP's points.

The most concerning issue to me is that yet again CCP are ignoring the guys that pay.....again. The sisi thread on the UI went on and on but no, it got pushed out and much of the rage of the community. Apparently all of the devs are at a party at teh moment, I hope they feel happy that their server that used to run at between 50-60,000 online players these days is struggling to pull half of that.

I hope that they are happy that the new UI has found such a resounding welcome from the player base, I have one guy in my alliance that likes it. Added to that I'm seeing fewer and fewer pilots loggin in, EVE is still awesome and I had hoped the new direction that CCP had so insisted it was on was true, but no.. the first time it hits the fan they dig in and refuse to take the new UI back to the test server or make it at the very least optional.

I've been playing this game for nearly eight years, I have actually unsubbed for the first time ever in protest, and emailed many of the Devs, so much is broken that I'm starting to wonder if it's actually just done and EVE is in it's dotage with its glory days behind it. Just once I'd like to see an oops we made a mistake, gonna roll back that and take it back to Sisi to work on it for a while.

That at least would show some humility and ffs some common sense.

I hope they are enjoying their INCARNA 2.0 launch party.

The one thing that pisses me off about pirates is their insistance that we play THEIR way. Sure, they can blow up my ship, and already have many times. That's what they do, and it gives me more things to work towards.

But screaming that all miners are taking the easy way out and should be banned? Have you every tried mining in a well populated system on the border of lowsec? It's like driving a pink tank in Afghanistan while covered in neon signs saying "I AM AN INFIDEL" in Arabic. In less populated areas you have a better chance, but all it takes is one ganker to **** up your new home and have it marked for more frequent patrols. If you blink, you might miss the Tornado appearing on d-scan, and even then, you need to carefully place yourself and be aligned so you can get up to speed before he gets in range. On top of that, unless you're with a corp who provides security to get you into a WH or nullsec, you're going to earn about 0.05x what a L2 missioner makes, and still have to have a budget for a new ship. The markets are so ****** from marketbots and 0.1iskers that the profit margin is slimmer than an anorexic sheet of paper. So don't ******* tell me that miners are easymode, or that it's boring. You have to have your eyes on d-scan, local, and Overview at all times or you'll get your ass handed to you on a platter.
