Pertinent question regarding the unified inventory

I know, I know there's already a load of threads regarding what some consider to be an abomination.

My question is this

Is the estimated value of your inventory that the new interface shows pulled from average Jita prices? The reason I ask is that some items are either way overestimated or underestimated in value when compared to Rens prices, I'm in Heimatar so Rens is my local hub.

It looks like it's EVE wide. Like most statistics in EVE it isn't accurate. Doesn't consider supply and demand or volume, only pools very restricted numbers and supplies an average.

Max price in New Eden is 10 mill, min price is 1mill, average is 5 mill. for example, not considering that 9999 units are at 1 mill and only one unit is at 10.

meh I was hoping they'd cocked up and were using average Jita prices, would have made trading between regions a little simpler.

I do believe we need a Dev post to clarify.

I am using multiple clients with the same assets in various hubs.

A Drake has an 'estimated value' of 44 mill in Jita, Amarr and Dodi.
