No, because the rage is always ridiculous and caused by self-entitled people who can't handle changes, and most people just keep enjoying EVE.

The problem a majority of the people have with this expansion isn't with change. It is the changes that were made even though almost everyone on Test said it was a terrible idea, pointed out bugs, glitches, etc, and were basically completely ignored.

CCP touts itself as a company that listens to its player base, but after each expansion it is clear that they are moving in a direction that really doesn't take into account anything the player base says. They only listen to what the CSM says, and we all know they have been pushing their own agenda for years.

CCP actually listens to the player base, Crucible is one evidence of their ability to change direction that pleases their customers. CSM also played a role in this. Ship balancing ideas are discussed and changed according to player feedback, see AFs, titans, rig changes for examples.

CCP also runs periodical surveys to gather direct player feedback.

Inventory seems to have been rushed live with some bugs and unfinished details, but this is rather typical for software releases. I'm confident they will iron the quirks out soon enough, for me personally it has already decreased the hassle and time I spend in the inventory.

Unfortunately I don't consume the amounts of tinfoil required to believe in any CSM conspiracy theories.

Yeah it never worked, I am kinda sad because of that. I always wanted to be a bounty hunter, or Batman... Now I can only be Batman, always be Batman... 8)

My main concern is that I do not see the "improvements" CCP said they have done.

They said they will listen to the player base (which they did in the Crucible expansion - no point in arguing about it). And would have only needed to continue down that road. Now I see the EVE GD full of whine threads and mine is relatively modest compared to others. And this could have been averted if some people in the development department weren't so keen on pressing a release date (or a feature change) by (and through) all means.

ps. I filled out every survey they've sent with the newsletters...

I don't belive in reincarnation I've never believed in it in my previous lives either...

My theory is:
People with a healthy social life will simply enjoy EVE and a good bunch of international people on TS.

P.S.: I am out into a sunny warm summer day to pick up my son from kindergarten and looking forward to a big smile when he sees me "hitting the out of office gate".

What kind of video card are you using? It's been said over and over on here that ATI cards are having particular issues with the missiles. This isn't anything new to eve, ATI has had issues with many games in the past. Just look at Doom 3.

You are going to love their next expansion. It's nicknamed "Win- you can please some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not please all of the people all of the time-o". It promises to be the most illustratively named expansion to date.

Kidding aside, I think everyone is open to constructive feedback, but a laundry list of complaints won't do much, unfortunately.
I'd check to see if your drivers are updated. I have an ATI card that loves to take vigorous dumps whilst I am in a hostile system.

First of all, Your rig must be horrible, because I'm using a 5-year old laptop that used to run EVE at 30fps on a good day, shaders off, but textures and LOD still set to high, and now, I run at 60 FPS after Inferno, on the same laptop, with the same settings. Including the new missile effects and such.

Second, whilst starbases changing hands every other day is a bit of a pain in the arse, it at least makes FW make a semblance of sense. Quite frankly, I think they should take it one step further, and replace all starbases in war zones with POS-like Outposts which would have similar function, but would have to be destroyed to take the system, then your faction comes in and sets theirs up. Players storing items and ships in these outposts would not loose them upon the hangars and warehouses being destroyed, and will instead be returned to the item hangar in a station of their choice, through the Assets panel.

3rd: Unified Inventory actually is pretty awesome for me so far, only complaint is that when I hit the loot all button on a wreck or a can, it doesn't then close the window so I can react again.

And it's not supposed to be easy to make 100m/h in Hisec. I know. I've tried.

I do like some of the changes.

Not enough meat to call it an expansion tho, maybe if they had balls to post about the missing stuff and tell us how it will be rolled out in Inferno 1.2 or so... but meh.

Good thing it's free Big smile ( alltho in this f2p era of mmos, you can hardly call it free when there is both a sub and a cashshop in your game Blink ).

Personally I've seen very little actual constructive feedback and a whole lot of gnashing of teeth and threatening to quit and even some real scary rage posts in response to an update that, despite its flaws, is actually a good idea and a needed update to one of the most used systems in the game.

2: Graphics update: Did you run out of GOLD for the Amarr, or is that the Minmatar lobby was too strong in your midst? Right now Amarr ships look dark and darker. No golden hulls for me. Silly me, I expected something shiny. Or is it the dark grim future that you are literally painting us in advance?

3: War declaration: I haven't been in a war dec for some time now. And while I applaud the chance on the terms that fleeing a war is just ... meh, I do feel like that cost-scaling will only hurt small corps running a business.

4: Kill reports: Cool, we had that for years, it's called eve killboards. There are at least a 100-300 (thousand) of them lying around on the net, programmed by third parties FOR FREE.

5: Mercenary marketplace: Not sure it was what we really needed. (Bounty system anyone? I could give you advice on that for free!)

6: Factional Warfare: I am sure as hell no one really needed THIS change. Altering FW - good, doing so on your own terms - bad. Every player comment I have read is negative towards stations changing hands every other day.

7: Modules: Stuff that is not really necessary. I wonder how many Bhaalgorns will have to die to bring you this message...

8: Character creator: 16 new skin tones, cool... a: I have already made my decision ; b: where is WiS so that I can groove with the other players "oh you used skin shade #15... you are so cheap!" ; c: don't care because I am using station view most times.

9: Unified inventory: Almost every player cried on the test forums who tried it. STILL you added this feature. The only decent thing you COULD have done would have been to add a ticker at the settings: Do you want new shiny thingy? Yes/No. If yes then "you bought it, you broke it" if no then back to the old one. You added this option to the Walk In SmallSpaceAppartmentWithaBalcony thing, you know... Now where did I leave my large ammo for the gun?

10: Incursions: Ripard Teg has a nice blog post about your fabulous Incursion revamp. Pretty much neutered the whole incursion stuff from where I can see.

11: Effects Bar: Nice, although I really miss the option to lock up the whole bloody group by one click.

12: Opportunities: What? Where? Mining? Don't be kidding me! You did not boosted mining, you negated other incomes. That is a BIG difference! And not a feature. I know Apple tried to sell the copypaste ... again ... but you could have guessed where this will lead: a bad taste in the mouth of most people (Datecores, anyone?)

13: more UI stuff: Good, pitty it cannot add stuff properly together.

1. No issues with missile framerate despite all but one component in my PC being 3 years old.
2. Granted it's a little dark but Bronze > banana yellow any day
3. The new cost method has just shifted decshield methodologies, but it closed some other gaps nicely.
4. Nice to have it IN GAME and not need 3rd party tools to look at a kill
5. Merc marketplace and the bounty system are so different that I wonder if you know how either work
6. The rate at which systems change hands was nerfed. Do you actually read about the changes?
7. Unless everyone is wasting a mid on cap batteries all the sudden, this is a non issue
8. Some people use station and others use CQ. Some care about the avatars, some don't. Just because you don't doesn't mean it's a bad addition.
9. Choices mean more dev time to support both and slower updates to the game in general. Better to have change and continue to improve than to just do nothing with the most complained about aspect of the game (user interface) IMHO.
10. This is being revisited, most likely within the next 2 months
11. When were we ever able to do that?
12. When other incomes offer in large quantities something that is another occupation's sole product, that is abit of an issue. For mining this was resolve. For R&D this was... Well, were 1 of 2 I guess.
13. Not sure what you are referring to.
