Can someone please0 do a photoshop of the Bush Jr. photo-op in a carrier with the "mission accomplished" sign, but change bush's face for soundwave, and mission accomplished for "lesson learned"? I would do it myself, but no idea about photo editing, and too lazy to try and learn it myself just for this.

Also, +1 to this thread.

It made it live because when CCP asked for comments, 90% of the responses were "I like" in one form or another.

What I would like:

Window setups remember their setup, one for when docked, one for in space.

Any item in the tree can be dragged to the neocom and creates a button that opens up just that item window. The resulting button would only show on the neocom when you are in a location that allows you to open that item window.

Old Buttons Please!

Also PLEASE read the book "The Inmates are Running the Asylum". It addresses many of the HCI problems you seem to have been stumbling over lately.

Kind of but not quite.

I want them to build on the new system by letting us assign “root objects” as specific windows.

Let me define a “station” inventory that has things like the station hangar, corp hangar, corp deliveries and ship hangar in its tree, and nothing else (because those are the only things that are subcategories to station inventories). Then let me define a “ship” inventory window that has things like the ship cargo hold, the drone bay, the ore bay, the whatever-bay in its tree view and nothing else (because those inventories are the only ones that have a ship as its root object).
Then let me define a “cargo can“ inventory that lists… (drumroll) cargo cans in its tree view, because that's the only thing that sorts under that root object.

…and now let me actually make use of that much-vaunted NeoCom customisation to assign each of these root-object-inventories to a specific button (and as an added bonus, let me define a custom keyboard command for each such button). Then let each such window remember aaaaaaall of its settings: location, size, last seen content, default content, stacking, view modes, tree and filter expansions and settings and so on.

Then we'll have something that starts to look like a good inventory management system (also, cross-port the inventory manager to cover the other two obvious uses: the S&I interface and the asset windows — both corp and personal).

pretty much this!

+1 to OP.

Again obvious - dev's don't actually play the game...

edit: Time to get my Jita ammo sells up again... that monument looks to be gaining some more holes

They were warned. so many pages of test feed back, but no we just got told "its a minor change", "you'll get used to it" and anyone who posted against it was obviously afraid of change. Roll

Well CCP how's the feedback so far ?

Im sure CCPs motto is If it Aint Broke, Break it.

Also, the current ship you're in is missing from the hanger. Why do that???
When I'm moving stuff around I need multiple windows open BY DEFAULT.
This new system is soooo time consuming.

Let's qualify that statement a bit…

It made it live because they asked for comments on the blog and 90% of the responses were “I like” (me included)… until it actually became available for testing and people started to list the litany of issues it had. But they aren't all that well poised to deal with actual test feedback. Straight

also:
Why does double clicking a ship now switch to that ship, instead of open its cargohold
Why does the ship ur currently flying now show in ur stupid new ship hanger, thats ********

A simple solution can be found here.

They have a new neocom, but don't want to utilize it..

CCP.. Have your cake and eat it too.
Keep the new inventory, While adding upon the recently added neocom.
