Sure easy.

http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-Pavilion/A3G47AV?HP-Pavilion-dv7t-7000-Quad-Edition-Entertainment-Notebook-PC

Plus there is currently a 33% coupon so that's a qud core i7 quadcore, 8Gb DDr3 1600ram, 750GB 7200rpm harddrive, upgrade the gpu to a 650M 2GB, and a full 17inch screen.

Coupon code for 33% off *instead of 25%

oh, and this is new. you can add a tiny SSD for just 50$ of 32GB mSSD Hard Drive Acceleration Cache

This would run your 3 clients, just fine for just over 1000$

only 1600 x 900, but good price. you could use an external monitor, get one for free off criaghlists or something.

As adam smash above points out, mobile video cards are not exactly powerhouses, and heat is always an issue unless you have a powerful ventilation system, in which case battery life could become an issue.

So I guess it depends a lot on what exactly the OP would call "comfortable" when he says he wants to run 3 clients (windowed mode overlapping or fullscreen switching, extra screens or not, what resolutions, what graphic detail, how much FPS would you expect, etc).

Very good price, and quite an impressive machine, but note that it's a refurbished one.
Not necessarily a bad point, since you're unlikely to snatch up anything even remotely as good for such a low price otherwise (it would probably cost 1400-1500$ as brand new, so very roughly 50% extra).
Some people shy away from "refurbished" though, even if it's actually in mint quality.

P.S. As a shared laptop to be used alongside my wife, I got an Acer AS7750G - i5 2430M, 750GB HDD, 8GB RAM, HD6650M 2GB vid, for the equivalent of 615$ + taxes (taxes are pretty steep around here though, 24% VAT is no joke).
Passmark rating on the vidcard is only 729 (vs the 1265 of a 560M), but that's quite sufficient to play almost anything.
Not very great with dual-client EVE (single client works wonderfully though), yet manages an acceptable performance. Played Mass Effect 3 with everything on highest in 1600x900 fullscreen and it was fine (could have been more fluid, but it was quite playable). Considering stuff in the background gets throttled down, I suppose that it could run three EVE clients with only one in the foreground still at an acceptable frame rate for the one in the foreground, but I haven't tried it (I seldom log in on two intances to begin with anyway).
The thing I like the most about this machine ? Battery life. Nearly 2 hours gaming, over 4 hours watching vids online or screwing around on the net, and that's with a wireless net access.

Lets drum this up for the weekend crowd

By comfortable,
right now i have a toshiba satellite a505 s6033. It struggles to run three clients, lags, and definitely starts to feel the heat. Even with a cooling bad underneath. On low video settings, it can efficiently run 2 clients, which i dual screen (window mode) 2 toons.
What I would like, as a base standard is to either run three clients on low settings with zero lag and no over heating, with a bonus to have some higher visual standards.

Over heating and lag being the two primary obstacles i want to over come. I could careless about hard drive storage space, anything over 150gigs is over kill for me. Blue ray would be a bonus, but not needed. HDMI out is an absolute must, along with the addtional monitor port. Having extra ports to upgrade the ram would also be a bonus.

budget in the 1k range

thanks for the input

That tigerdirect link craps out for me (the entire site does, on several browsers), no idea if it's just me though.

You still need to clarify that.
