Eve server graph for yesterday didn't break 43 thousand online, Never seen that for a Sunday before.

Keep sweeping those last few remnants of miners running around the place, see if you can get a few more thousand to close their accounts so next weekend server won't break 30 thousand.

Thank you CCP for encouraging ganking, we're on a roll with all these accounts closing. Good for business huh CCP??
Don't stop nowPirate

Oh and thank you for all those 'INVITE A BUDDY" ads you been posting, seems more than a coincidence at this time, you getting a bit worried CCP?? I thought greifing is all good with you Question
Only thing is, if I'd invite my friends, they'd get griefed as theyre trying to progress in the game, so since I don't wanna lose my friends, I won't invite them P

Of course this is nothing to do with Diablo 3 launching this week, and even less to do with CCP Sreegs foreverwar vs the botters.

Of course.

The PCU was 43,217. The last time that happened was New Years Day (42,559). Before that, we had the Sundays just before Crucible 1.0 was launched (41,992, 42,997, and 42,475 respectively).

…except that it's quite unlikely that it has anything to do with ganking or with miners. Want to take a guess what caused that pre-Crucible dip? It was the launch weeks for the entire winter line-up of AAA titles. Want to guess what happened last week? Oh my! Is that one of the most anticipated AAA launches on this side of the millenium (conveniently coinciding with a beta launch that at least some EVE players have been looking forward to for quite a while now)?! And that's not even going into the numerous other seasonal and enforced factors that play into lowering the population.

So if you want to bark up trees, I suggest you pick another one.

I hear CCP "ganked" a few miners as well with their anti BOT campaign.

I was ganked by Diablo III for 3 hours this weekend.
I have since recovered, washed my hands, shaved and given D3 away.

So, out of curiosity, suppose that CCP got rid of all pvp in empire (without changing anything else). What do you think the effects on the total player count would be after 6, 12, and 24 months?

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Must be Diablo 3, ofcourse, its got an AWESOME 4/10 USER SCORE, THAT MUST BE THE ANSWER TO OUR PLUMMETING SUBS Blink

Diablo 3 is a terrible game, STOP PLAYING IT!

Like title says, it's totally unplayable because of the lag, DC's and server failure. And when you actually manage to login it's one big grindfeast. The story is too boring and short and after that you're just mend to play it over and over again. There is no customization and the 5 classes is way to little to keep you busy. On top of that the graphics are **** and the customer service is even shittier. If you don't believe me check the EU forum during the server failure today. No support at all and no communication about what was going to happen and it took them the whole day to get the servers back on. Don't buy this game and if you have already made the mistake of buying it, just leave it on the shelf, the box art is better then the game it self!
Now with that said, hopefully the servers will become a bit less crowded, so I'll be able to play :-P

Hang on a minute.

I know 4 folks in my Local area have unsubscribed what sounds like at least 3 toons each. One was a 4 year player. This is what I gather just from Local Chat as I don't really talk to those players. And someone I've known since my first year (now their 5th year) unsubscribed 3 accounts and even has a personal email from one of the Devs asking why (apparently they do look at the cancellation reasons on the cancellation page). And I myself am taking my 4 accounts and 6 toons out of here.

And none of them (or myself) are quitting for any reason even remotely related to Hulkageddon.

They (and myself) are quitting over the nonsensical crap going on. Mainly they see themselves as not being able to progress any further into Null andother more advanced activities ever. One coalition is in control of everything worth having, everyone is blue, and not really any action left. Out of boredon, they have invaded high sec, not for real game, but lulz, while holding onto Null like a really large lollipop, out of arms reach.

Why bother. All that's left is endless repetition of the old. And it's signed and sealed to stay this way. And CCP will do whatever it takes, especially for one certain coalition, to keep them bringing in 'the news'.

CCP's solution for me was to join them. Do NOT even begin to tell me they don't want to utterly change their playerbase. Basically, when they were talking to me as I was unsubscribing, I didn't like what I heard at all. Thank god Civ 5 has a new expansion June 12.

That came as a surprise - wouldn't have thought that the alternative to playing EVE is Civ. Roll
