Dust is Dust.
EVE is EVE.
Get over yourself

Stupid nooblets...

Anyway, if they will bring Dust to PC, then I'm all for it. Especially with the disappointment that is BF3. We need a Battlefield: EVE. That's what we need... Except I want the people that made BF2142 to make it, not the ones that made BF3... 2142 was freakin' awesome.

Edit:
Lol, wicked cheese, say it!

You know if you had a penny for every tear you have shed over DUST being a console game, you would not be poor and can afford to buy a PS3 easily.

If I had a penny for every moron that spouts his mouth off knowing potato, I'd be pretty damn rich.

Everyone raise your hands if you've got a decent paying job, not poor, but still think a $250 console is still a pretty steep price to pay for a console to play only one game. All other ps3 games are irrelevant, I have no interest in them. And if you're still moochin' off ya momma/daddy, then your opinion means jack s***. Self righteous little **murmurs disgustedly..**

Making a sub-forum for a part of the game universe is “poor show”?

Ok. so lets get into this, IF DUST is a part of eve online and eve online is part of dust, being the same universe, then why should PS3 console players be able to participate in said universe without paying a MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION like all the PC players.

Secondly, same universe, on two completely seperate gaming systems, lets be honest, its 2 seperate games, and should be treated as so. Ok there maybe in the future "if all goes to plan (tm)" there will be interaction, but isnt there also interaction on say battlelog between xbox, ps3 and pc with another online fps game, being able to view other peoples profiles nad comment etc. so this is hardly groundbreaking.

This seems like such an obvious troll-post, but I'll answer it anyway.

EVE and Dust are one Universe not one game. The reason Dust Players don't have to pay a subscription for EVE is not just because they use a different subscription model, but because they can't actually play 'EVE' in ships and stuff.

Now, on to more important things. EVE and Dust are merged; not in the sense that players can freely move back and forth, (though I'd like that), but in the sense that they share the same game shard in all respects but one. When Dust Players go into a battle on ground, that battle is occuring on a localized Battle Server rather than the EVE Cluster.

It is however still connected to the EVE shard for interaction and communication purposes; I suspect through the same means that CCP now stores and streams other data like player avatars to the game client using Carbon IO I believe.

This is new and never done before, though there may be other game companies working on it now that it is being delivered and has been proven possible. Hard to say, but I assume the big companies have a prototype just in case they ever need it.

Allow me to restate: The games are merged. This allows EVE payers to trigger an event in Dust, and Dust players to trigger an event in EVE. Both groups of players technically inhabit the same stations, though it remains to be seen how complete that experience is or is intended to be.

When they unlock our doors, will we be able to go out and share the same station space with Dust players? Quite possibly we will, and I don't see any reason this wouldn't be available as soon as that door opens. Given in that situation we share the same server shard in all respects it should be completely viable. The only real difference will be how each game client recieves and translates the data.

This is all afaik and iirc of course, but I'm pretty sure that is approximately correct.

We are directly connected to the game whether you like it or not. Anything that happens in EVE can effect DUST and anything that happens in DUST can effect EVE.

Think of it as their own little embassy in our country.

We got one because you do not speak for everyone and many players have been requesting one for some time now.

CCP want interaction between DUST and EVE. Having an integrated forum between the two formats is probably a useful tool to enable future integration

Having a Dust subforum on in the EVE forums makes sense because there will be a Dust component to EVE, much like we have a Science & Industry subforum because there is an industry component to EVE.

Exactly, if they didn't give us a dust forum where would we congregate to discuss the most effective way to ruin Dust player's games via orbital bombardment?

I'm waiting for a WoD sub forum here. CCP make it happen.
