Going to look like an absolute noob here, but i'm new to playing the markets and all that ****.

How do you redeem your items from a buy order after youve purchased them? do you have to wait until your order has been filled, or wait for the time to run out, or is there some secret special box that the items go to. had about 3/4 of a buy order i set up completed yet i have none of the stuff.

yeah...

Check the range on the buy orders.

You might've set up a buy order for a range of 20 jumps, and someone sold you the item 5 jumps from your current location>

best advice is to check your assets, use the filtes to find what you bought, and see where it is.
If the order just ran out of time, you won't be getting any items i'm afraid.

What range did you select when you created the buy order?

Take a look at your buy order and see what the range was. You can also look in your wallet, i think it's the transactions tab, that shows the records of the buy orders, it should show you where the goods are.

If you selected "entire region" (i think that's how it's worded) then your items could be anywhere in the region and you will have to go pick them up.

Fly fast and shoot straight, find peace when you need it, war when you want it, love always and turn up the music.

Check your wallet transactions to find the station it was sold to you at (I find that faster than asset searching)

If the buy orders were corporate and not personal, you might also want to check the deliveries tab under your corporate assets.

It took me a couple of days to get into the habit myself after wondering where my purchases had disappeared to.

If you do ranged buy orders, you should consider putting them on a dedicated alt. That keeps your main's asset list clean. Let the bought items clutter up your alt's list, and when it gets to be worth hauling, contract it over to the main.

Use a tool like jEVEAssets (the Overview tab) to figure out which stations have "enough" ISK value to be worth picking up. Early on, I would go pickup at stations once they accumulated at least 10M ISK in total goods. Now I only do pickups where the station has 40-50M or more in value.
