Most people playing EVE at this point must feel FiS to be good enough to keep playing the game, where as all others have left within, or soon after their trial period expired.

Most people I know who have played for a fair period of time have quit the game(Yes I can say most that means more than 50%)

Now the FiS content (carebear activities, pvp frequency, pvp style&system design) are far to good enough to hold the most of the players, many of them come then quit then more new players come and then quit. Look at the graphics you will see the game has not had any player increasement for a year now.

True, but that is in fact perfectly normal and healthy for an MMO. They do have life cycles, you know - Growth, Stability and Decline - and EVE is now on the "stable" part of the cycle where the influx of new players and exit of veterans more or less cancel out. It's a sign of a mature, successful product which provides a steady income for the owning company.

The way you extend an MMO's lifestyle is to strike a balance between maintaining what it already has and expanding it into new territory. Good and polished existing content can keep a product "stable" for years, but not indefinitely. It's expansion that does the real work of increasing the life of the MMO, either by extending the "stable" phase, or by shoving the game back onto Growth.

WiS and FiS aren't incompatible. Anybody who claims as much hasn't been listening to what CCP plan on doing with establishments, black market and customs. We don't NEED to vote for one or the other - we're going to get both, and they're going to merge into one complete product. It's just going to take a while.

You must learn patience, Grasshopper.

WIS

WIS is a blank slate.

FIS doesn't need anymore ships.
Fixes and tweaks and balancing yes, some polish could go a long way here.
FIS can be broke a lot easier then it can be fixed at this point so I would rather see a slow changes there instead of massive changes in bulk.

FiS. Too be honest id prefer if they would just wipe the slate clean and revert the whole server back to incursion.

Both.

Though, if I had to pick between the two right now.. I'd choose WiS, at least until we have establishments and mini-games to play with friends and stuff, then after that.. Both.

WiS is nowhere near where it needs to be.
FiS should never be abandoned like this again.

I'll happily keep paying for the continuously evolving full Sci Fi experience. EVE needs to stay near the forefront of gaming graphically and technically but should allow use on older boxes and mobile devices too.

Players need to feel like they're able to shape the lore and direction of the game.

The poor planning that led to this Summer's mess is truly shameful. Cry

Would like to see the WIS basics done with winter expansion and then continuous upgrades for FIS and WIS. I think there is much potential in WIS.

We've had 8+ YEARS of FIS expansion. That's not to say I don't want to see any more spaceship content, but I'd like to see WIS up and running.

And has been stated many times before, Eve is not all about the spaceship PVP, CCP want Eve to be the complete Scifi simulator, and WIS is a step towards this goal.

This. Absolutely.

How can anybody say FiS has been neglected when it's all we've had until now? Roll

FiS should always come first, but I would like to see WiS that wasn't worthless, i.e. gambling halls, corp offices, booster labs that come with new types of boosters player made. This is all small things that could wait for two patches and if push came to shove, FiS should be virtually all of this expansions (winter) content

While FiS of course has to stay the most important thing in Eve, WiS should become a second column of gameplay.

I would also like them to work at solving world hunger, and supplying medical needs to the disadvantaged, and finding cures for cancer, parkinsons, alzhiemers, ALS....

But I suppose if they can't do it all, I want them to work on FIS, then the other things I mention, and if they get all that done, then walking in stations.

You've had 7 years of FiS, let's have a little bit of WiS until we have something that resembles a finished project.

Durr, that 7 years is what made Eve a remotely successful video game. No contentless no gameplay barbie dolls /dancing in a station.

Outside of EVE, how many sandbox games have you played? In fact, I think all the "ARRRRGH SPACESHIP GAME" people need to answer this question.

What do you consider a "sandbox game"? Do you consider second life a sand box game? No I haven't played that. It looks unbelievably stupid.

I've played city of heroes just briefly and you could walk around everywhere in that. It was not a great game but it at least allowed our avatars to do combat. If the idea of the game was to simply to "walk around" then it would have been extremely dumb.

But whatever is your point? If you want to know if I want to play "storeclerk online" - which is the only sort of "gameplay" ccp has mentioned so far for wis- the answer is no. Why does it matter if I ever played second life?

People who keep saying I think WIS has so much potential please tell me what it is? Remember there is no combat allowed - thats all for dust.

Edit: meanwhile ccp never developed a mechanic that leads to quality small gang and solo pvp - which to many is the main strength of eve.

Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

What do I consider a sandbox game? Minecraft.

I'd very much like both, but if I had to chose depending on the level of resources, I would pick FiS development. There are too many things that need balancing and fixing and it's far time they be revised rather than put aside for a few more years.
