Buff Gate Camping

Someone once mentioned ships jumping in having momentum. Land at 13km from the gate and drift at full speed for a bit (cloaked) thought it was a great idea,

Might not have been on these forums though.

Whoever you are, this is me citing your suggestion.

Gate camp tears are like cornflakes. Boring

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

I say make them godlike on the Hi to Low transits like in High Sec.

If it becomes harder to camp the direct entrances and makes blockades have to setup in one of the 2-5 other gates it decreases people getting ***** slapped their first step in and lessens the flow of newbie mails. Camping becomes a bit less viable it might make a few campers turn to roaming. It also makes it hard for people who purposely keep there sec positive to jump away if a superior force comes to remove them. Makes them jump into another low sec system.

Help some players take the plunge into lo-sec as well.

That would be an awesome start, I'd also make them nastier as the sec diminishes and/or increase in nastiness over time. So you might be able to deal with them for 30 minute but they start hitting harder and harder as time goes on.

Get the fighting in space, not the gates and stations!

I especially like the part where you outline a plan to make fighting in space a more viable tactic.

Currently people in anomalies, radar sites and mag sites are pretty much the only targets you'll find in space. Anyone else will have a scout on the acceleration gate, see you coming on directional a mile off or they'll spot your probes the moment you try and flash scan them.

Hell, most players outside of local won't even undock with a neutral in local. Even in low sec the only people who will continue doing something with hostiles in local is people doing exploration, because they think they have an acceleration gate protecting them.

You may not like gate camping, but it is ridulously easy to avoid gate camps as it is and they are one of the only reliable forms of forcing combat. If you really hate them that much you should put your energy into teaching players to scout, or fly appropriate ships like blockade runners.

My vote is to make people fight for strategically valuable locations....like stations......and ....and gates....

So close...

Sounding a bit clueless about the game the rest of use play it seems.

Indeed, Christ if he can get on the CSM I might run myself next year. I could do with a trip to Iceland and I actually know a little about internet space ships.

From what I've heard, your representation amounts to very little.

Change gate guns to be more like POS guns. High sec gates and stations should be better set up with more guns. Lower sec = less guns. Guns should be destructible in low sec and below, NPC owned systems should respawn the guns any time the grid becomes empty for a certain amount of time or after DT. They should be anchorable in null sec, either use POS guns directly or make a new kind of gun.

I was warping through low sec last night I landed onto a gate camp. Would mean nothing but they had a smart bombing BS with logi that insta popped rookie ships and pods when they landed. I lost BC5 due to my "there are no bubbles in null, I'll update my clone when I have a chance of getting killed"

yeah, they need a buff.....

BTW op get a fast locking rapier to help you with your problem. quit whining... whiner.

Is this the thread where we all gather to talk about how there aren't enough people to shoot at in low sec, and, also, how we're completely unwilling to accept any sort of change that would make low sec less inhospitable in any way?

To OP,

You may have the right to attempt to force combat on others and we have the right to attempt to avoid it.

Despite my posting prowess I really am terrible at this game

A good gate camp will be able to grab you before you even turn around and start burning back to the gate.

No, this is the thread where we don't care how terrible you are at Eve. As long as you make less ISK for being terrible.

In other words: if you can't figure out how to get into low sec, that's your problem. But you should be space poor as hell for it.

Oh, yes. Low sec is definitely the province of the internet space 1%ers.

How could I forget?
