Some of you people are gonna get marked by the goons, i will never say anything bad about a corp i know nothing about, i know of the goonswarm, and it is probably exciting to take part in a corp that is not afraid, and it seems it would be easy to learn from so many. I regret the way i play sometimes always worried about every cent, but thats because i have no back up in my corp, i want to pvp, but with one other person, gets old, when everyone else just wants to do missions. I have been in alot of corps, not because i wanted to, because most of them die , or nobody pvp's. But im not gonna sit here and say they are scammers, because i dont know, we should watch what we say, explosions are expensive.

Scams are part of what make EVE unique. If you are dumb enough to fall for one, you deserve to lose everything anyway.

If you want people banned for scamming, go back to wow. It probably has another year or 2 before they shut down the servers due to lack of population.

For bigger jobs of that nature, a Capital ship pilot would typically bring it in through our system of private jump gates, shortening the trip by about 10 systems and bypassing a lot of typically hostile and dangerous systems.

It sounds unlikely, I know, but they've never lost a package yet, and they do this every day.

This really depends on whose perspective you're looking from. For me, sitting in Empire mining Veldspar while obsessively checking local for hostiles and docking up for hours at a time when they inevitably show up sounds downright sleep inducing.

You know, I really do get that it upsets you, but its not reasonable to just ban people who play in a style you don't like.

The whole deal with Eve is that New Eden is a lawless kind of place, especially in nullsec. This is encouraged by the sandbox environment. Piracy of the con-artist variety would inevitably spring up, and hey, it has. It is up to the playerbase to evolve in response to it, just banning takes away from the immersion that makes Eve so popular in the first place.

The correct response would be to start an initiative to educate people against scammers. Even GoonWaffe does this, just look at our wiki page for joining at goonfleet.com, or the somethingawful threads. They clearly state that paying isk to join goonfleet is a scam. We're more than doing our part to try to put an end to this skullduggery. People are going to laugh and throw childish insults at me, but anyone with a brain can just go look for themselves.

That warning has been there for years. It's also on our in-game channels. And in the profiles of more than a few of our leaders. Goonfleet itself warns players of recruitment scams, and has done so for years. What else do you want us to do?

Another option would be to start your own corp made up of people who hate us enough to come up and stop us by force. Just whining for CCP to ban us is lazy. You have the freedom to stop us yourself, if you have the charisma and initiative to get it started.

Do you even know how the vast majority of goons play Eve? Most rat. Some mine. A lot of them get rich in industry making ships and modules. Same as pretty much most people playing the game, we just do it in nullsec, and we encourage an environment where we help eachother get started, be it with isk, free ships, training ops, etc. We make and keep the game fun for eachother. There are no required ops, CTAs, or anything of that nature. We already have jobs, we log into eve to relax and call eachother mean names. We have fun. We certainly don't gripe on the official forums about how everyone else chooses to enjoy the game (although some of us do on our private forums, ymmv).

Now it is true that there are some less than savory members of our group that do recruitment scamming, and it is on the victims to alert us to this group so we can police our own. It is not the responsibility of CCP to simply ban an entire corporation because a few people don't like how a small percentage of it plays the game. We don't officially encourage scamming, and we do kick members caught doing it, either in goonfleet itself or the alliance.

Now, are we friendly with non-allied corps and neutral players? Nope, we're awful to them. Hulkageddon, Burn Jita, countless corp awoxes and large scale thefts. Those are all corporate warfare and are a part of the game. If you can't sweat it, go to WoW. This is a sandbox game, and we have just as much of a right to play it our way as you do yours. There is no case for banning us aside from the simple fact that you don't like our tactics. To answer your question, yes, a lot of us are a bunch of colossal pricks. At lot of it comes from the fact that to us, this really is just a game, we just don't take it as seriously as you do. I have a wife and a lot of friends. When someone in Eve pisses me off, I just log off for a little while.

You like to play the game your way, but you want to ban people who play it a way you don't like. You're a fascist. You want everyone to follow the rules you set down, while eliminating the playstyles you personally disapprove of. I don't like scammers either, but do I want them forcably removed from the game? Of course not, because I like the Wild West lawlessness of Eve. You can't make a world like New Eden and then start arbitrarily policing people who choose to make their way as con-artists or pirates.

In a world like New Eden, these professions would be quite common. You simply don't want to learn to deal with them and adapt, you want the game handed to you with no risk or consequence. You might be more at home in WoW, because New Eden isn't going to be carebear enough for you.

People accuse CCP of favoritism with goons, but that's ridiculous. They don't stop us because we aren't breaking rules. We're playing the game in a completely valid way, and we're succeeding quite well by doing so. When I was a day old newbee, I was flying rifters against capital ships. What were you doing? Mining Veldspar? Struggling against frigate rats? I've got billions in isk at the moment from mining Arkonor while watching The Simpsons or reading a book. I don't need it, because I've got plenty of ships and modules to last me for quite a long time. Losing a ship just means getting laughed at by my corpmates. If I lose it on an op, it'll be reimbursed, so I'm not even out that money. That leaves me with time for fun.

Seriously, that anyone still falls for that scam says a lot less about our ethics than it does about their intelligence. GoonFleet does recruit, it would be absurd to believe we don't, given our size and the size of our alliance. We just don't recruit openly outside SA. Other than that, GoonFleet is by invitation only. The only people getting scammed are the ones who either can't or simply refuse to read.

If that makes you feel better, go right on ahead believing it, but I'm telling you, people really are that dumb. I get at least 6 reports a week complaining about scammers.

Usually, if we want to get the game's attention, we do something like gank all of Jita or swarm up and wipe out highsec hulk pilots. Posting fake threads on the forums is more of a pubbie move, we have the assets to do so much more.
