And I think you'll find that it is Gallente smut-merchants that are behind most of them.

Or agents of the Theology Council.

Your source of information is highly suspect. Gallente "smut-merchants" (as you so eloquently put it) release materials that are likely to captivate their audience, draw in purchases and attract return clientele. Seeing as how a great majority of their target audience frowns upon such things, it would be a horridly bad business practice to engage in them.

I can't speak for the Theology Council, I don't know much of what they're into besides alcohol and long debates.

Midna Lyre's not insignificant fanbase might argue with you there.

Midna Lyre was a music star with allegations linking her to Blood Raiders because she openly professed to practicing the Sabik faith. This has nothing to do with "Gallente smut-merchants."

It did, however, have quite a lot to do with this sentence here:

If such a large portion of the target audience frowned upon that sort of thing, she would not have gotten as popular as she did. Which tends to indicate that it actually wasn't a bad business decision. Of course, business wasn't the whole point there. In most places in the Federation, in most circumstances, you are free to express yourself in whatever ways you desire so long as you aren't infringing on anyone else's rights at the same time. This includes the right to observe whatever religion you choose - and openly state that you do - regardless of that religion's status according to other governments and entities.

I wouldn't really call Val a pervert. An overzealous and persistent would-be suitor of Silas', yes, but pervert, no. He hasn't really crossed any lines of that sort yet, has he?

There's a distinction. This topic is about Erotic Blood Rituals, implying those used in sensuality. Furthermore Gallente "smut-merchants" deal with visual holoreels not music. The statement made by Miss Valate would imply that such rituals are inspirations for Gallente porn flicks, which they aren't - the two are not related.

You are either willfully ignorant, or horribly sheltered and have never watched a music video in your life.

There is an oft-repeated joke about how if something exists, so must pornography derived from it. Unfortunately, it's not that far from the truth. It is also unfortunately true that there's a corollary to that joke: for nearly every bodily function, part of anatomy, or activity, there is almost certainly a fetish to go with it as well. What does this also apply to?

You guessed it: Sani Sabik rituals. When there's a market for things like autoerotic asphyxiation, or vorarephilia, it really isn't surprising at all that there might be a market for fetishized depictions of Sani Sabik blood rituals.

Do I think they're ludicrous? Hell yes, and that's just putting it lightly. Just like the vast majority of what is produced by the pornography sector in the holoreel industry - and I include things made outside of the Federation there, as well.

But that doesn't mean everyone thinks that way. Clearly they don't - if they did, there wouldn't be a market. If there wasn't a market, it wouldn't be produced. If it weren't being produced, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Lialus Raithe, I refer you to the Impetus production: "Busty Blooder Babes III: Love Slaves Of Sahtogas"

There's a series of such... things.

Needless to say, I find their Interpretations of Scripture to be Questionable at best.

So I stand corrected, thank you.

I don't view the films coming from that industry and don't pay significant attention to it, but my err was in assuming that finding anything remotely sensual about blood rituals would require a specific (and subsequently smaller) audience. Clearly, I was mistaken.

Interestingly enough, I never knew such a film existed and I'm no more interested in viewing it now than I was before.

Shocked

A Sani Sabik cultist says something I can actually agree with? As opposed to laugh at.

Well I suppose it is an inifinite universe.

I just laughed for twenty minutes straight. I'm still not sure if you're serious or joking. Either way, you deserve a round of applause.

I'll also quote you for my overall response to this... "questionable" topic:

Perhaps you should look into investing in a sense of humor for yourself first. As well as a spellchecker.

The word 'or' is spelled correctly, therefore a spellchecker would have done no good. I believe this was a typographical error. I believe she meant to say 'sense of humor'.

I concur with Pilot Rella's assessment, though. You Hethites really do take some topics posted here far too seriously.

Out of curiosity, why do you assume all Caldari are Hethites?
