Hi. I'm one of those guys who can't stand it if anything alters the clear perfection of his desktop, and the thing that looks like a white USB stick that pops up on my desktop after I install EVE has been getting in the way of my wish for minimalism.

Anyways, I would like to know if I could get rid of it without making EVE stop working. I moved it to the trash, then emptied the trash, and then discovered that EVE would no longer work. What's going on?

I take it you must be new to Macs?

The "white USB stick" that you're seeing looks something like this, yes? http://www.bc.edu/content/dam/files/offices/help/gif/osx-usb-drive-icon.gif

From what you're describing it sounds like you're trying to run the client off of the install image. That white icon represents the mounted image. You need to copy the client over to your Applications folder and run it from there. Then you can unmount the install image and delete it with ill effects.
