T2 Noctis (Exploration Ship)

How about to make a exploration/archaeological ship in cruiser size


ORE Industrial skill bonus:

5% bonus to Tractor Beam and Salvager cycle time per level.
60% bonus to Tractor Beam range and velocity per level.

Exploration / Archaeological ship bonus:

5% increase to scan strength of probes per level
5% increase in chance of archaeological find per level.

Role Bonus:
10% bonus to salvage drone hit points and travel speed Big smile
or
wreck detector (wrecks will be scan able with Scan Probes)

Drone Capacity : 50 m3
Drone Bandwidth : 50 Mbit/sec
Cargo capacity: 500m3

Low slots : 2
Med slots : 4
High slots : 3


no Turret and Launcher hardpoints


and yes I know the salvage drones are still not out jet

Tech 2 ships are specialized for a specific role.
What you've proposed might make more of a T3 noctis, that is it seems like several different ships squished together.

I think the idea of a Tech 2 "wreck detector" Noctis has a lot of potential though you might want to try to focus on just that and build a ship.

There are several existing ideas for Tech 2 exploration ships that make more sens than starting with a Noctis hull.

Oh, and the ability to probe wrecks won't be added into the game. It would be of dubious use at best and very exploitable at worst, not to mention a pain to change the probing mechanics for a niche role which is of little practical use.

It doesn't really feel specialized enough. I'd like to see an Echelon variant be the codebreaker/analyzer ship, rather than the Noctis.

I would like a variant T1 Noctis that uses salvage drones instead of salvagers, though.
