This thread is now about Coca-Cola vs Pepsi.

I prefer Coca-cola, especially if I can get the stuff imported from Mexico. Best ever, cane sugar instead of corn syrup. Damn Iowans and their corn... Sad

I will chime in on this one.

A) underfunded with growing liabilities each year
B) parents that treat the school system as a baby sitter
C) Onerous rules on what can and cannot be taught that vary state by state and in some cases municipality by municipality
D) Federal, State, County, and city requirements on graduation rates and test scores for minority populations (read: not white)

Not taking a side on these, just stating these are some of the issues. Also here in Los Angeles there have been issues with Pedo's

a i agree = uk has the sam issuses
b i agree - uk has the same issues
c- i agree - uk has the same issues
d .......political correctness

TBF on D there is alot of trouble with that here. I have lightly tutored some kids around in the use of computers and basic (American) English. My thoughts are with those that perform those duties full time

Despite my posting prowess I really am terrible at this game

Oh not to mention their health care for the rich only, no better than a third world country.

Well I just checked a quote and for about 105/month I can afford it. Assuming an entry level position at minimum wage and a mere 25 hours a week worked, a part time job, I would earn enough that health insurance would be 1/8 of my income. But that would be for someone working part time. Entry level. Making very little money. Of course, I am not a college student working part time and living at home, so it is nowhere near 1/8 of my income. More like 4% tops. Doesn't sound too bad to me.

Greece is in trouble because of their greed and rampant lazy ways that follow them even when they emigrate. I have no respect for them. They cooked the books to make it look like they had under 3% debt, which gained them access to the EU. They borrowed at low rates from EU banks and were about as responsible with the spending as Brian Bonsall in that terrible 90s film Blank Check. They knowingly borrowed money and spent money they knew they could never pay back, and the citizens were quite aware of it. Some near me even gloat about it. America has its problems. Bankers and corrupt politicians have hijacked our country. This will be taken care of soon (tm) in our voilent civil uprising. We will pillage and burn the responsible parties, Possibly forcibly engage in sexual activity on some select posteriors.

Lt Pizi, please stop telling us about how we can control via some form of democratic process the EU Parliament, Commission, or Council. As EU citizens we have very little control at all. The reality is that the MEPs get there, realize that they too have little control of anything, and end up focusing on what they can get out of being there rather than anything else, and it's no wonder just look at the structure it's aweful

Also for those that say it was all the sub prime stuff that started this off you're mistaken, it was the 25+ years of near unlimited consumer credit that preceded the sub-prime fiasco that made so many companies and economies appear to be in growth but in-fact it was all based on money that didn't really exist other than on the lenders books. So SMB's all over the world bought more equipment, made more products, employed more people to supply more goods that have been paid for with money that doesn't really exist.

System is foobar but they're (central banks and our -sic- governments) trying to let the balloon down gently without us all realizing its so incredibly screwed up. We all believe we're too 'invested' in our socioeconomic system that there's no way out. The Greeks just might say 'f**k that'. Iceland is still dealing with almost doing the same thing.

It's another reason why the banks aren't actually lending as much as they could. They're de-leveraging as quickly as they can because they know they're exposed to trillions of counter party risk if it all goes ****.

Not sure if anyone has said this (couldn't be bothered to read the half baked political/economics slanging match), the reason for the change is probably to do with projected rate of exchange between the Euro,GBP and ISK (real Icelandic ISK obviously) in the future.
