Ok, long time issue for me, and something I think is a pointless waste of my GPU/resources (and yours)...

1. they look horrible, they really do not work - they cause the lasers, and other effects to be all screwed up, and even the new missiles are looking bad in these little pixel clouds in missions.

2. they lag, they really take some FPS hits on some cards and there is no way to turn them off.

3. they serve NO purpose - not the gas clouds that are harvestable, THE simple clouds that just sit there and make your ship skin look bad, mess up effects and have terrible looking anyway.

SO, this is a petition to CCP...

+1 if you want them to either be able to ON/OFF this effect, or just get rid of them you can state your preference.

I've been wanting an on/off feature for these clouds for a while. +1.

Also, INB4 "hisec mission carebear".

The damn things lag me out on a GTX580.

I think they can look good, but the performance hit from them really ruins the game play and forces having to zoom out 100 miles away from my ship just to be able to operate.

I would like to remove the bright clouds, the dark ones are generally okey, but the bright ones make my screen white with red blinking symbols.

+1 I just dont like em cause even with everything else turned as low as possible, when im looking at (camera turned towards the cloud) i slows everything down. Turned away (if thats possible) speeds it back up again and theres no option to get rid of it lol

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Back when I was new to the game I also had a problem, once upon a time they where MUCH worse!!! like, 50 FPS would drop to 4.5 for me.

They are much better, Tolerable, but I guess some people still have problems, Maybe it is time to retire them or work on them a little more.

I cant go into a mission with bloom on or it just whites out everything if you're in or near a cloud. Bloom kinda sucks anyway but it just makes bad clouds worse. Surly there are better ways to fill up room voids then gas. Many missions could use some new sets of skyboxes, like layered debris fields mixed with new large objects like the station sized ones in some sites.
dx11 stuff has tons of opportunities to add more life to the rooms.

3. don't they indicate a reduced chance to be scanned down?

Cloud Missions cause me a bit of lag. At least an on/off switch would be great.

This has never helped. These clouds happen in w-space anomalies too, and everyone hates them.

For years I've felt space is too 'bright'. When I do missions, I actually turn my camera to the darkest area and target purely via overview. I'd love to actually watch the battle once in a while.

You don't even need to get rid of the clouds, just turn them down a notch or 2.
