Hey, ive been wanting to try out this game, yet they have no free trial unless you are already subscribed to the game.

If anyone is willing that plays swtor id be much appreciated if you could send me one of those 7 day free trial keys to my eve-mail.

All WoW clones are losing subs, and even WoW itself. I think people are getting sick of it finally.

If you don't mind that kind of game, and like star wars, it's worth your time.

I'll admit i played wow lotro and warhammer when i was a lot younger. For a good 4 years and i absolutely loved it. Its kind of lackluster and boring now and with it most MMOs. I figured the starwars one might be worth a shot though since it is...starwars =D

It's worth a play-through, if you want to think of it as semi-watered-down multiplayer KOTOR. End game is bad, art is lackluster and there is hardly any music throughout the entire thing...so I recommend picking one Empire class and one Republic class...Sorcerer's story is great, Bounty Hunter's is decent, for some reason I really liked Trooper's as well. Agent's is ok. I couldn't power through the rest, it was just so very bland.

They just gave away 30 days of playtime to people who subbed, I'll see if I'm still active tomorrow...gotta find that security code thingy, though.

I tried it, it sucks. The same boring stuff from lv1 upto lv 50.

Trust me, you don't want to spend money on it.

At the very least, wow is an open world, SWTOR isn't. When I started playing, I was picturing a sexy combo between wow and eve. Well yeah, I had high expectations but I didn't expect THAT.

You are supposed to be able to explore the galaxies, all you can do that is hang out in your ship... small ship, on ten planets and one station. The thing the station is smaller than any of the capitals of any other game while the way you move around the planets is pretty much the same as the way you move in a bad first person shooter. So long liberty !
At the beginning, the fun you are having through the storyline makes up for the awful planet system but when I personally couldn't stand it when I reached tatooine. I had two levels 25, I stopped playing them and came back to eve.

However, there were two things I really liked about SWTOR. The first one was the pvp fights. The lag was unbearable but it's first game where I was able to see jedi jumping and doing tricky stuff in the air when fighting sith warriors. Not very useful but very nice to see. The other thing was that you can fairly easily per as a healer compared to other games. Some new mechanics for healer also caught my eyes but in the end, they are not as exciting as I thought.

Finally, many already mentioned the storyline and I will a few things about it. The storyline will guide you through the entire game giving you a purpose and the impression of being part of something bigger. I played the smuggler, jedi consular and jedi knight story lines and I cannot say I was really amazed. I left it without too much trouble. The bad part is that if you want to do something else such as running dungeons or whatever they are called, doing pvp or fleet missions and get levels, you will have to continue your storyline nonetheless/. The bad thing is that you can get 2-3 levels without paying attention and when you have to come back to the storyline, it's pretty sad.

In conclusion, it's not a bad game, I liked playing it and the pexing phase is fairly nice but it's not that much better than wow and wow is nicer to play overall.

its IS that bad. Once you get past the "oooh voice acting" and see the game, its a wicked WoW clone. A bad one at that given there might as well have been 4 classes, no good PC races, its just a bad game. That coming from someone who beta tested it and still bought it, hoping it wouldnt suck and was dissaointed.

The game is SUCH a WoW ripoff, there are layover picks of the Imperial Fleet and Ironforge/ Undercity and theyre nearly the same.

I lost all hope for the game to ACTUALLY be different once I read:

Which is funny cause one of the most useful tools WoW has (TOR doesnt) is the lfg system. Otherwise youre reduced to sitting around spamming general chat and "LFG this or that"

So even by the above guy's statement the game is dumb.
Plus, they broke the game's lore after the first patch. MAN thats GOTTA be a record. I would love to have heard the Star Wars hard cores once they announced the legacy system would let Sith be Jedi lol

Tells you how sad it is when the game isnt a year old and youre getting "please come back" emails

Plus the game is so rail driven it would make a train track complain about the linear nature.
Plus starship combat is a ****** version of Starfox

Oh man that sounds very dissappointing. I havn't researched it that much so i didn' know.

I actually beta tested it but i was busy on my weekend so i only got about 6 hours in and judging from my minimal experience it looked like a decent WoW clone.
However you guys have had more experience in the later levels or endgame so yeah...apparently its complete garbage. What a waste i loved the pre-movie star wars. I think ive beaten KOTOR 1 over 12 times now. Its at the point where i just min-maxed the game and 1 shot malek lol
