Keynote says, and tesselation shows:

Awesome interactive and more complex mining system with many more resources.

Awesome new visual effects.

New ore ships, especially starter mining ships.

Soon (tm)

This I will say. The mining stuff was talked about during fanfests one year plan and an interview soundwave did. So if it isn't on sisi in next week or two, I expect winter expansion or another inferno expansion later.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

But the OP insists, repeatedly and doggedly, that mining gets no attention!

How can this possibly be true? SHE TOLD US THEY NEGLECTED MINING! WTF! Roll

Well I suppose they'll just pass on the costs to the miners ..

The best part is, they get to 'pass on' the costs on hulls built at old prices. When prices go up you get to make obscene profits until your stockpile runs out.

Yeah, I was just thinking that. Hilarious.

Nice story bro. When is ring mining coming out? It would be interesting to mine not just grav sites but planet rings as well.

I know right? I had something like 30 billion in minerals when the speculation hit and I'm still laughing on my way to the bank while I sell ships built for 75% less than the new market price.

hmmm sorry but can't agree here, the ganker risks to fail in his attempt. Unfortunately we can't see the ratio between successful gankers and fail gankers as seldom a KM is available.

Would be interesting to see a stat how many trashers and tornados die in highsec without killing their victim :)

Speculation and things they would "like" to implement in the "future". I did not read, hear, or see anything from fanfest that said this was definitely going to happen.

Some of you think the game revolves around you and that the others that play this game may just not feel the way you do. Belive it or not some people actually like - "mining". Yes...there are many players that like to mine. You act as if the game revolves around your playstyle. It doesn't. There are other people that play EVE. Is it to much to ask for a little attention to the one profession that hasn't seen any new updates in forever.

OP, as an Industrial player myself who dealt with mining, you're not helping us miners by whining on this thread.

CCP already understands the need of the miners. They understand that mining needs to be interactive and less boring. But the problem is that mining is not at the top of the priority list because there are more pressing needs. You may think that mining should be dealt with as soon as possible, but you are forgetting that mining revamps need to wait. Some ships still need to be balanced, war decs need to be revamped, too many high-sec carebears not wanting to go take risks (when they should be), client crashes that need to be resolved, GCC and TiDi issues, and much much more.

You will have to exercise some patience here. Personally, I don't want new mining ships as that is not the solution to revamping the mining profession. After all, we miners have all the kinds of ships we need to build wealth and create player-driven content. Adding standard content for mining such as new ships and stuff is not the solution at all in the long term as it is only a short-term solution that will quickly get boring and you will then ask for more anyways. I like some interaction with mining that will severely hinder bot users but not hinder legitimate miners but we all know too well how freaking hard that is to accomplish.

If you are a skilled programmer and know exactly how to improve the mining profession without harming the economy or gimping the profession in any way, then by all means please contact CCP directly rather than waste your time posting on a forum full of trolls. If you have NO programming skills and have never created your own video game in your life, then please by all means...

Mining is fine as it is and no more boring than, say, mission running.

There are a couple of different ressources, places and methods to mine which all need a different subset of support skills.

And building up a dedicated mining operation, fleet, corporation can be as rewarding as doing the same with warships. In the end everything comes down to organization, coordination and logistics - some people thrive on that no matter the actual purpose.

I do not feel that Industry has been left out, I also do not feel that Industrialists are the punching bag of all of EVE. Most of that is just forum echoes by a handful of haters or whiners.

What I do feel is that some Industrialists lack the imagination to do it right. Anyone who is ganked in a belt in an expensive ship is probably careless, or stubborn, or too ignorant of what's going on (benefit of the doubt: might have a cunning business plan).

Strange....for my understanding the OP did ask for new stuff making mining more interesting....and got bashed for being a carebear and whining. I have to agree at some point, that mining is soooo boring I will not do it, and I also have to agree that most other careers had several changes do improve them, industry seems a little bit like the forgotten step child to me....

P.S. PI is a lie and was only introduced for DUST :)

She posts in here every day, more than one thread per day, whining about mining.

Everything from bitching about the EHP of mining ships to whining that CCP needs to put out more mining content.

She also likes to use a lot of hyperbole. No updates to mining in six years? Oh, really?

I do not create multiple threads about mining every day. Dude...you are loosing it. Go take a chill pill and sleep it off, you'll blow a gasket soon.

Mining needs attention too. It is a part of the game. Despite what others may think or wish.

Go and learn reading comprehension to level 1, he never said you create multiple threads you idiot. He said you post every day, and in more than one thread, about your inability to use the content already in place for miners. Do yourself and us a favour and shut up. Thank you.

Well, I can confirm that someone posting in this thread failed to gank one of my alts during a mining ops in a .6 system in dec 2011 Lol. He lost a thrasher. If he had used his ship scanner before attacking, he might have noticed the toon, though pretty much new then, was sitting in a properly tanked ship.
