Thing is, it's still a Raven. They just aren't great ships these days.

They're fine for their intended purpose. Cheap L4 mission ships. Full damage selection, great range, solid tank. The end. Best BS in the game? Certainly not, but that's not what you expect with an entry level BS.

Buy a Minmatar Faction TP, they aren't that expencive close to 30 million.

Oh and on the SNI passive tank, no but it's possible to perma boost it and remain cap stable, not the most efficient set up but it's doable.

If you have trouble with small things, try a scorpion Navy issue. You will have enough mids for tank and painters, so with the rigor and flares you can two or three shoot AF and cruisers. Against big things you will lose a bit of DPS in comparison with the CNR, but against smaller things you will have no problems

Also the SNI is half the price of the CNR

Maybe not quite half the price, but not too far off. SNI is probably 325-350M rigged (unfitted)...CNR is probably 550-600 rigged (unfitted). So, give or take 60-65% of the price of a CNR.

SNI has a sick tank, and room for TP's to make up for a portion of the cost of having 1 less launcher. CNR will give you both better deeps, better range and faster damage application (where things like that matter).

All in all, a properly fit CNR will NEVER have issues in L4 missions. Thus, go for the extra DPS and get that. If you have any business flying either, you'll never need the kind of tank an SNI offers...and certainly not at the expense of damage.

K. I've chanced to an active tank with a painter and changed to 2x rigors and a ccc. This made a HUGE difference.

We drew angel extravaganza and I was cutting through smaller targets really well when compared to the other day. The shield booster and amp along with my hardeners were plenty to keep my shields healthy.

Thx again everyone for your help.
