PVP Catalyst for roaming Destroyer gang.

Hey guys.
Some alliance members and I are gonna put together a low/null destroyer roam for giggles (with a few Interceptors thrown-in as dedicated tackle).

The call is for close-range fits. We probably will not have any logi, bigger ships, etc.

I have skills for Minmatar and Gallente (more for Gallente though).

I'm planning-on flying this Blaster Catalyst fit;

[Catalyst, PVP Blasters]

Lows:
Damage Control II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

Mids:
Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I

Highs:
Light Ion Blaster II, Void S
Light Ion Blaster II, Void S
Light Ion Blaster II, Void S
Light Ion Blaster II, Void S
Light Ion Blaster II, Void S
Light Ion Blaster II, Void S
Light Ion Blaster II, Void S
Light Ion Blaster II, Void S

Rigs:
Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I
Small Core Defence Field Extender I
Small Core Defence Field Extender I

Hobgoblin II x1

Stats (All LVL5) are:

516 DPS (591 hot)
872 Volley (1003 hot)
1171 m/s speed (2401 hot)

6135 EHP

So here are some proposed changes I'm considering please let me know what you think would be most appropriate.

Dropping 1 or both shield rigs for speed/agility rigs. (Speed goes-up to 1923 m/s 2698 hot, EHP goes down to 5491, with 1 Polycarb and 1 Aux thrusters.)

Dropping both shield rigs for a Burst Aerator. (DPS goes to 546 - 625 hot, EHP goes down to 5661. Unfortunately, this uses-up all the calibration points so I'm kinda "wasting" a rig-slot.)

Mid-slots are also open to suggestions. I really like the MWD. If you're not in-range, you're not doing any DPS. The quicker you can get into range, the quicker you can start doing DPS. Scram makes sense to me because it provides a point for others in-case our dedicated tackler goes-down. Also things won't be able to run away from me quite as quickly without their MWD.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think would be most-usefull in this type of situation.

These are both good options. Don't bother with shield rigs. CDFEs are percentage-based. You won't get much benefit out of them if your base shield HP is already low, and it is.

MWD is mandatory. Destroyers are large enough that you're unlikely to be avoiding much damage by speed/sig, so AB seems kinda pointless...And getting in range with blasters is crucial.

I'd use the fit as-is save for the rigs. My own fit is identical save for two auxiliary thruster rigs instead of CDFEs.

Just my 2 cents:

1. Drop the scram for a tank mod. MSE should fit...SSE, if not. Tracking computer if you want some extra gank.

If you're going with a gang, you should have enough tackle on ships that are better slotted to fit it. Instead, use the mid slot for a tank. Anything helps since you're going to be close and you're made of glass. If you're really looking to be the classic glass cannon, go with a TC. It will help both your engaging range and deeps.

2. Drop the shield rigs, replace with prop or turret rigs.

With a paper tank, the last thing you want is sig bloom from the shield rigs. Plus, as was mentioned above, the rigs are %-based increase isn't going to mean much when you're starting with such a small number. Go with another gank rig and perhaps a prop rig, speed will be your biggest tank.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

The Shield extender is a no-go. A medium won't fit without some major downgrades in other departments. A small shield extender gives the same EHP as the two shield-rigs, with about the same bloom in sig-radius. Overall, I don't think there is any advantage to a Shield Extender. I have basically the same stats as the ship with the 2 shield rigs but no scram.

1.So, I can do the shield-rigs (these rigs are also the most expensive) for ..6135 EHP/ 516 DPS/ 1711 m/s
2.or two hybrid rigs (can't fit 3, not enough calibration points) for.................5661 EHP/ 546 DPS/ 1711 m/s
3.or go with speed rigs (1 aux thruster and 1 polycarb) and get...................5491 EHP/ 516 DPS/ 1923 m/s
4.OR..... If I went with 2 aux thrusters for max speed it would be.................5491 EHP/ 516 DPS/ 1951 m/s

I'm really leaning towards option 1 or 2.
I'm not real confident that all the guys in the roam will be able to do much tackling, so I really feel like I want to keep that scram on there. The Tracking Computer is a good idea (I love using one on my mission boat), but I just don't see much gain there. If I script-it it def helps at the longer-ranges but I expect I will be too busy to remember to swap scripts.

Also, what are a couple cheap implants that I could throw-in my PVP clone that would give a nice boost in performance?

/raises hand with confusion

Excuse me, how are you getting 1,1171 m/s of speed? I have full snake in a fitted Ares and only get 896 m/s.

What's a prop mod?

"Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters" is a MWD.

I think the name has been changed in one of the recent patches to something more logical though.
Anyway, MWD not AB. That's why this is faster than your Ares.
