BRING BACK THE OLD INTRO~! (or make a new one)

The problem with the current intro video, If you are not familiar with the story line of EVE, it leaves you guessing and wonderinga bit.

The original intro video (IMO) not only tells you more about the history of EVE, but in doing so it also lays more of a path for you in the game. The Original video actually gave you a reason why New Eden is even here. The old video says "Hey this is how we got here, and this is what this game is all about. Forging your own path to domination and prosperity among your peers"

The new video pretty much says "Here is this big universe for no reason, have fun not knowing wtf you are doing" .. The current intro looks just like any other MMO intro. A lot of stuff in eve is actually going that way.

The old video gave you a better sense of what EVE is all about. What the game is all about, which in my mind, gives me a better idea of what I want to do with myself in game.

Or make a new one that is informative like the old one. Even if it is 10 minutes long. The intro video is the first thing new players see, and with a game and big and in depth as EVE, the more background information you can give: the better.

Hmm I will support this, Not the OLD video persay but rather a beeffed up new video that is essencially the same as the old one.
just with improved visuals.

i agree, the old video explained so much more and lays the foundation for each race. At the minute you are thrust into EVE and have no idea the back story of each race or of the universe.

ya, a new updated video would be nice. in fact, would love to see more videos that deals with lore and the history of the races from CCP

Yea, I didnt exactly mean bring back the exact video, but the "Quality" of the video. A REAL INTRODUCTION TO EVE, not just a "Hey, look at this bog complicated place, have fun..."


The Intro video is THE FIRST THING new players see when they get here. It is the first thing that should put that seed on inspiration into their head about what they want to do here. Not confuse and intimidate them

A new version of the original perhaps? Several of the visuals in the original would jar with v3’d assets.
But beyond that I’d agree, “a world outgrown” was awesome and it says something that it’s been years since I last saw it and I still remember it - whereas I can’t say I remember even seeing the current one, although I must have because I remember the client resetting to show it when they brought it out.

The new video has ZERO STORYLINE. Its horrible. Its beyond horrible.'


The Funny part: The new video is LESS New-Player-Friendly than the old one, yet the new video was 'supposed' to be a re-vamp of the intro to make it more new-payer-friendly

they made it TL;DR friendly, and as such made the into to EVE a little MORE confusing to new players

I agree completely. The original intro video really pulled me into the game as soon as I started. I would love to see a revamped version, using a similar script, with production value akin to the fanfest cinematic trailer.

The old intro really does a great job of setting the stage for what type of world the player is getting themselves into, and what sort of mentality they should have to succeed. The current video is informative and let's you know you'll be in space, but not much beyond that.

I do agree with the op, we do need a better intro like we use to have that explains eve lore it also explains what the capsules is to help newer players.

as far as i remember the intro video for each patch has somethin to do with that new patch so if you aint seen the old ones then you don't know what's goin on though a video to walk you through it all from begining till now with the arrival into eve and story from then till now would be rather ace :)

nope, you're thinking of the trailers. OP (and everyone else) is talking about the opening videos to the game that you watch like once.

They should really stick the old intro into the character creator. Like the front page that goes over all four races. but they won't because they are dumb.

why do I know they are dumb? because I've been saying the same thing for years, and nothing ever happens. It's like new players need to be sent a link by us friends to see the old intro so they can pick a race to play. so stupid!
