Is still worth but only if you play like you want with own style, try find any goals, this game without goals is boring.

Is really hard to play for those who try almost all things and profesions in game, personaly i try find new aspects of game so im still here.

No

been on since 2006, and really enjoyed the learning years. now i just log on to change skills, move a few ships around to maybe do something, get bored, and log off. I have had long stints of afk, try to come back and usually hit a ccp roadblock that makes me turn right back around again

I do have a alt in RvB... which is fun at times when one side is not screwing over the other to organise 'fair'sides.

pros
new ships,
continues stream of fresh faces (although doing the same things as people before),

cons
plex!
and OMG... petitions!!!!

back in the day, i remember losing some drones while i dc'd in a mission. i got them returned within the hour. You USED to get responses and action by nice GM's that seemed to care. Now... i lose a ship magically from my cargo, and your waiting nearly a week for a reply, which more often than not results in some kind of question about checking my own logs.... like we have not done anything to figure out wtf happened during that week.

I did try to come back... but stupid **** like that makes me want to log right back off. Seriously, ccp, pro way to ensure people stay away is by continually having really poor GM.

Always good to see the Devs fully involved as always.

There is no real reason to get back into Eve because CCP themselves don't know what they want to do with it.

They are not putting any serious money or effort into development towards it. Though they are trying REALLY hard to make it LOOK like they are.

They are totally banking on Dust and how it will plug into Eve as Eve's new "expansion" to fund the company into the future.

Dust is where all of the money and effort is going. They have confirmed this themselves in multiple venues and press releases. (If you read past the media hype and all the corporate-speak BS.) Hell, EVE-fanfest itself. All the people who went, was it REALLY about Eve, or Dust?

But, oh yeah, you need a PS3 and ANOTHER subscription through micropayments to PAY for the "expansion" that is Dust.

In SPITE of the fact that CCP swore up and down that they would never charge for "expansions". So, instead, they just created another game that ties into the one they already have in a way that you can't avoid (at end-game content level); and then called it names like "innovative" and "revolutionary" to cover up the fact that its just plain greedy. And greed, by the way, is nothing new.

What a lot of others in this thread have said is true: "Eve is what you make of it." I just woke up one morning and decided I was tiered of PAYING someone else to tell me to go "entertain" myself.

I mean seriously, start putting your money somewhere else people. There are a lot of game titles (and companies) out there that disserve your money a lot more than these jerks at CCP.

Start giving your entertainment dollars to a company that actually ENTERTAINS you; not to someone who just tells you to go entertain yourself and then wants you to thank them for their "innovation".

So NO, I do not see any reason to encourage people to get back into Eve; or into Eve in the first place for that matter. I have been, and will continue to discourage people from becoming involved with any CCP product for as long as I can.

And on one final note to CCP: From one completely dissatisfied 9 year customer, how about all of you strongly "entertain" my middle finger!!

My main is 3 years old now. When people find out that I play EvE they ask me tons of questions. All I can do is tell them the truth.

First, I tell them that it will take them at least 6 months of sitting and skilling to be able to actually do something worth while. Yes, I could tell them that they could run missions for 9 hours a day for those 6 months in a T1 Destroyer and end up with a few hundred thousand ISK but you might as well just not play for 6 months.

Then, I mention that there are a large group of players who do nothing but prey on the helpless and new players in the game, especially the ones who don't have any ability to shoot back.

After that, I talk about making ISK in game. I tell them about making maybe 100 Million ISK in a few hours while mining, but then I mention that those same bullies who attack the helpless have literally tens, if not hundreds of trillions of ISK. Of course I tell them that for an entire month this option will be off the table, but hey, a month of gameplay, who doesnt want to dock up for 30 days in a game that costs you RL $ to play? Then, we laugh because neither of us will ever see as much as 100 billion ISK because the toons with 100+ Million skillpoints and growing will never allow myself or them to acquire those amounts. Of course I include the discussion about Hulkageddon and how it takes away an entire career path for much of the playerbase for over a month, which ends up raising the costs of ALL items in game, making them even more-unattainable for them, only afforded by the trillionaire blocs.

But I tell them that if they stick with the game for a year or so they too can acquire a few hundred million ISK worth of ships. They could build a nice 1.5 Billion ISK BS for those lvl IV's or Epic Arcs but that bloc of terrorists, supported wholly by CCP, will probably help you lose that investment one way or another, forcing you to start all over.

OR, they could spend $500 and have enough ISK instantly to enjoy yourself for a few months...

Oddly enough, everyone I explain the game to says they don't want to play game after hearing the facts.

Come back for the drama, if nothing else. What other game can come close to all the crap you'll find in-game, on the forums, through meta-gaming, etc.? None.

If you don't find that entertainment enough, then good luck in your future endeavors.

Does your friends ever tell you what a absolute ******* moron you must be to play a game that you continue to resent?

Jump bridges are a defensive structure. You need a pair of POSes. You need sov. You need to fuel them. You need to pay the not so insignificant sov bill. You need to have gotten freighters in and out of the system(s) - at least twice. Oh wait, you're just jealous that that alliance is more organized than you. Right. Go back to high sec. Otherwise if the jump bridges bother you, interfere with any of the steps mentioned previously.

If you don't like that jump bridge on your border that the enemy keeps using, maybe you shouldn't have let them get Strategic 3 in that system.

Blobs - u jelly that they have more friends than you? Recruit more, and stop recruiting carebears.

I myself am a returning player, I had played for nearly 6 years before my accounts were stolen, I took a year off and during that time I come to realize two things.

1. There is no other game out there even close to EVE. That includes everobots :)
2. CCP has ADD when it comes to New Eden, they get all excited by the idea of something but when it comes down to implemtation it always comes up short.

If you can deal with CCP mood swings and odd behaviour than I think EVE is worth coming back too.

Sounds like the actual problem is the people you're on TS with.

That's strange, when I got my friend to start playing, I gave him a set of +2s (this was back when learning skills were still in the game) and 5M ISK seed cash (about half what the new tutorials give you) and within a month he'd made his first billion. Within 3 more, he was flying Blackbirds in 0.0 fleets, getting blown up and whoring on killmails with racial ECMs like the best of 'em.

Now he has a thriving hi-sec industrial setup and he's way more spacerich than me.

Never did get those +2s back... :/
