When Race of Captial Ships to go for

Author

Hey all,

I am nearing the point where I will be ready to start training for Capital Ships, however I am stuck for which race to go for.

Is there any major difference between the 4 races in regards to Cap Ships ?

Is there a clear best or a clear worst ?

Cheers for the Help

Every single week or so the same questions arises.

Basically, since I don't want to go into it:

Carrier - Archon
Dread - Moros/Rev (Moros is better, Rev is more AFK friendly)

These forums have huge amounts of information regarding this question. Search around and you'll find a more detailed explanation.

Amarr or Gallente. Minmatar only for the Nidhoggur.

The Amarr have the best carrier, while the Gallente have the best dreadnought. The supercapitals are about the same, just a matter of preference.

Amarr or Gallente are the best choices. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

If you are having trouble deciding, go ahead and max your jump skills first.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Can't go wrong with Amarr. 2nd best dread, best carrier and supercarrier.

Go for caldari. Clearly the best choice.

+1 for truth. Everyone else is misleading you.

Caldari is the best at Capitals to make up for their lack luster Sub Caps.

Can anyone explain how amarr carriers are better than gallente?
+fighter damage% seems better than +armor% to me.

When is comes to carriers amarr hands down is the most useful over all,
Reasons:
1) it's an armour tanker with 7 lows plus 5% bonus to resists, so over all a massive tank
2) bonus to armour rep and cap transfer range(capital)- this is good for one primary reason. You seem to want to use the carrier for pve, your gonna get cought doing it at least once, this way if one of your corp mates is nice enough to save you it gives u the option of spidering with him. For a roaming sub cap gang spidering carriers are extreay difficult to kill.
3) a triage archon fitted right and with proper skills is extremely difficult to kill and when it comes to fleet warfare archon is second to none.

As for dreads I have never flown one but from talk and seeing fleet conpesition I've seen Moros used more because of its sheer dps.

Depends on what you want to do with it - for ratting you'd prefer a Thanatos, for any given PvP situation however, carrier dps are by far less important than staying power - I personally often didn't even carry any fighters when using a carrier in PvP...

that's probably because you dont fly carriers.
triage carriers also cant use fighters/drones.

Capitals... It really depends on what you wanna do:

Gallente: Great for PVP and PVE ganking/DPS, capital Hybrids have pretty short range but decent tracking though
Amarr: Awesome tanks, last ships to be primaried because of it, great cap means great RR for carriers
Minmatar: Bad cap and weapon slots means they take a back seat in terms of usefullness... But they easily have the BEST looking ships in the game.
Caldari: fairly common but limited in terms of CPU, nothing too notable about them

Apart from the Rifter and Hurricane, the other ships hurt my eyes.

If you have to ask your not ready to fly a capital ship.

And to answer your question the Jove capital ships are the best, others are misleading you.

people ask this because it's months of training skills plus the fairly steep ISK cost of skillbooks and, of course, the ships
