After 20 months in nulsec, I came back top hisec and back to level 4 missioning. Pulling my trusty X-Large shield boosted Raven from moth-balls, I went about shooting red crosses again. As before I had no problems. I also felt unchallenged until I pulled Worlds Collide.

Recalling that WC 5/5 was one of the most difficult level 4s due to timed reinforcement spawns rather than triggered waves, I still resolved to solo it after considering my skill improvements since the last time I had run it in a fleet.

Needless to say, once I had 3 Darkanas and their attendant escorts on grid, I was unable to tank the incoming dps. I probably spent more time warping out, recharging shields/cap, repairing damaged drones/ship, and refitting than actually fighting. I had no choice but to refit more tank and less cap mods. It worked.

So when I pulled Angels Extravaganza next, I took those lessons learned and applied then when I tried to solo the bonus room. Off came all the cap mods and on went tank, dps, and one large cap booster with 800s. I filled my cargo with cruise missiles and 800s and went in.

I did not have to warp out even once. Only until my cargohold was literally empty did I have to leave, and then it was on the final spawn with only 2 battleships left on grid.

It was the most excitement I'd ever had on a mission. And certainly the best performance ever. Screw passive cap regen. Go with boosters and more gank & tank.
